It had taken quite a bit of asking around and a few false doors, but Blair had finally been able to discover the mute-guy’s room. She padded up the stairs of the Creeping Crypt. The cat wasn’t too concerned. It’s not like this guy was on his death bed, right? So she took her time climbing all 20 floors because a lady has to stay in shape after all. Finally, she approached the apartment ( ... )

Zeus shuddered, eyes slitting open when he felt his body jostled. Ganymede being the only person he knew for certain was in the house, and the boy having a much gentler touch, it was a little jarring to be nudged in that matter. His fever still hadn't broken, and he shuddered, swallowing against the sick taste in his mouth. It too a moment for his gaze to refocus before he could figure out who it was.

Ah, the cat.

"Nyaa~ You don't look so good." Even worse in person. His eyes were all glassy and it was clear he was having a hard time breathing. He also had that weird sick smell. "It's a good thing cats can't get human germs." Blair sat right by his head. She felt badly for him. "The doctor should be here soon and then he'll make you feel better."

Probably not a good idea to turn into a woman here, Blair thought to herself. Otherwise mute-guy might die of a heart attack instead of a nasty cold.

To comfort him she climbed onto his chest and made herself comfortable. She began to purr quietly. Maybe the vibrations would help loosen any mucus in his lungs. Maybe. "Don't worry, mute-guy. As long as Blair is here you'll be okay!"

People said having a pet helped humans in various situations: stress, illness, whatever. But this kitty just figured it was just her natural good charm and magic that made people feel better.

Though Zeus' expression didn't betray anything, the sensation of having this added weight on his chest was- different. Strange. Aside from the fact that being laid up wasn't exactly an experience Zeus would have ever guessed at having, what could arguably be called physical affection, was also somewhat beyond him. Oh, he knew wholly, academically and possibly more intimately than any of the gods the depth of emotion man felt and what they did with that emotion- and had even showed his own favor to at least one person while in Deathy City. But to have that warmth vibrating in the centre of his chest as the cat purred-- he wasn't sure what to label that.

Perhaps simple curiousity as much as a weakness in his limbs stopped him from pushing her off, or even his own resolution to stay as impartial as possible. Either way, his gaze only half lidded and he regarded her for a long, quiet moment.

There was something to be said about lessons learned and the people -- or gods -- who didn't learn them. Perhaps Watson should devote some of his time making a manual of all things as to how the ordinary human body worked, and the necessary steps to take care of it? Zeus was not the first non-human to fall under Watson's care, and they all seemed to have the common tendency to disregard their new mortality as being a trifling thing. It would be a horrid day in Death City when half of its guest population fell to the flu that winter would surely bring ( ... )

Ganymede hadn't been sure what to expect, really, after he'd invited himself to the god's apartment. After all, he knew next to nothing about the deity himself, even less to whom he might have been attempting to contact by releasing such video. Both of which aside, while Ganymede had come with the intention of assisting somehow- it had been- well. It had been thousands of years since he'd ever experienced illness himself, and never before had it fallen to a prince to care for the unwell.

The knock was truly, a welcome surprise. Even moreso when he answered, and found Watson standing politely ahead of him. While he couldn't recall ever speaking to the man himself, Ganymede could recall seeing him on the field, among the medics. The relief shows in is shoulders before he realizes it- and with only a polite nod, he eases out of the way, allowing the doctor inside.

I'm sorry for the late. :c stalwartcane August 30 2011, 13:56:44 UTC
"Good afternoon," Watson greeted politely, stepping through the threshhold as the young man -- man? -- politely indicated, taking his hat off in the process. The unit was much like all the other units that had been allotted to the residents, though the modifications to this one thankfully did not involve a hole in the wall like some others he had seen here.

He made another polite gesture to ask for permission to approach the ill boy on the bed, before shuffling his way forward, limping as quietly as could be managed. It did not seem like the man had been struck with a very serious disease, though of course the paleness, enhanced by the naturally white skin, was more than alarming. "What have you given him, and how long has he been ill?"

Ganymede was momentarily, in silent awe at the practiced grace with which the medic made his way through the home. He looked wholly at ease with the situation yes, not a surprise, given what he had seen first hand on the missions, and the less than favorable settings it boasted. But, Watson wasn't quite like the average guest he'd met.

Something so simple as a polite demeanor and serene expression- it made quite the impact on the prince. His guard dropped almost immediately, and followed uselessly behind the doctor, hands clasping and unclasping before him from the doorway. He only nodded quietly at the question, a gesture to the bottle of cough syrup that rested on a nearby nightstand. "Some of that," He spoke quietly, uncertainty playing at his features. "but- it was only a guess. And some hot tea, with ginger I think." His gaze returned to Watson just long enough to crease in concentration. "I- don't know how long he's been this way. All morning at least, but, I haven't seen him in two days. Which is- unusual."

Hades entered the apartment in the middle of the night, well past when anybody sane would be awake. The lock didn't pose much of a problem to the god, not when he was also the patron of thieves and worse back in their world.

Scanning the state of the place with his dark eyes, he didn't bother as he made his way towards where his fallen brother lied, silent and dark as a shadow in the middle of the night. Taking in Zeus' sorry state, Hades' face remained neutral although his eyes narrowed ever so slightly. He hadn't missed the rapid decline the Sky had taken recently.

Reaching out with a claw-tipped hand, Hades touched the top of the blanket, right over where the light king's heart would be.

It had taken nearly the entire day, the assistance of people who knew what they were doing and Watson's expertise to finally figure out what he had. Bronchitis wasn't deadly to most in this day and age, but it still posed a problem and meant he wouldn't be up and about in the next few days. At least a week, he'd heard Ganymede being told earlier that day. But being a god, and a creature that wasn't used to touch, everytime someone had lay hands on him to help, he'd grown very aware and slightly uncomfortable. Still, it was an exhausting process, and so when Hades arrived, the King of the Gods was mostly fast asleep ( ... )

If Hades noticed the change of consciousness it didn't show: Instead the king of the underworld kept applying pressure that was not harsh yet kept increasing like the weight of the Earth he represented on a good day.

Still, he said no word.

Zeus already had a weight on his chest from the illness, and so as the pressure increased, he became increasingly uncomfortable until it was almost unsettling. Only then did he crack glassy blue eyes open, breath hitching as he struggled to bring air into his lungs, and glanced up through pale lashes to find his brother standing over him.

Surely, it was a sight that would have easily terrified most people into a heart attack themselves. To Zeus, it wasn't frightening, but the exchange of positions was interesting. Usually, Zeus was the one standing tall and Hades remained earthbound beneath him.

He shifted under the blankets, willing his mortal body to do his bidding.

Tohru wasn't sure if she ever ran this much. Minus doing the endurance runs at school but she called and ran from door to door asking about the God. She was positive he had to be around her somewhere. Finally hurrying to the Creeping Crypt, Tohru felt out of breath. She didn't pause in her running though as she held the clothes from Yukimura and a bag of groceries to make him food.

She panted as she hurried up the steps finally settling at door H as she knocked.

Of all the things he could have expected, and for the people he's seen come to the God's door, he hadn't quite expected a young girl.

He pulled the door open, only to stand, somewhat shocked, in the entrance way- head canted curiously at the sight. "Hello."

Tohru smiled shyly at the person at the door, taking a moment to catch her breath as she finally bowed to him. She quickly stood up straight again. Maybe this was the wrong room too...Tohru figured she would ask him and hope that somehow she could get lucky that the other knew where to find the sick man.

"Ex..Excuse me..I-I'm trying to find a young man sick. I..I dont know his name but..I made him soup and I brought my old partner's clothes!"

"You," he began the words slowly, as if by doing so, he might somehow be able to process it. Of course he knew that the shift in their circumstances had arranged for any number of things. The king of the gods had managed to become ill after all, had attained mortality just as the other deities Ganymede had come to know. But the idea that he had friends, or even- even those who would come to his aid is- is more than enough to give him pause.

The prince hovered quietly out of the way, enough to close the door behind her, but stared after the girl nonetheless. "Are here to see Zeus."
