To say that things had been incredibly (stressful) interesting since his return to Death City would be an understatement. There was the attack to plan, for one, then a new batch of arrivals had come in, then certain things had cropped up...

Overall, it wasn't obvious, but Roy Mustang was stressed. The man crushed yet another cigarette in the already overflowing ashtray on his desk and tried not to sigh. Maybe he needed some fresh air. That might be good.

The Meister picked up his pack and stood up, preparing to move outside. Then he spotted the strange... that was a man, right?

Ah, yes.

"Rinzler, I presume."

It was interesting to note that the man's expression resembled his Master's after a particularly awful day. While Rinzler doubted he had any retribution to fear from the User, it made him a little wary. A grumpy leader did not always have a clear head to deal with his subordinates.

Mustang approached, and Rinzler studied his movements. The man seemed confident, for all that he looked weary. It was all he could understand. Perhaps he had not shut down in some time.

Rinzler nodded his head to answer the question and stood waiting for further questions or instruction.

Another silent one? Celty suddenly came to mind, then Chane. Roy smiled, turning away.

"Follow me."

Time to head back into the office; business called. Cigarettes could be had inside anyway.

Rinzler obeyed without question, staying only a couple of steps behind the User. He glanced around as they walked, wide-eyed beneath his helmet. There were so many interesting things here. Rinzler longed to take the time to explore them all, but he imagined the User he was following appreciate it.

Lmao, new thread. Scrolling too far to one side irks me. XD thewarisover June 26 2011, 10:37:16 UTC
"Really?"

That was... interesting. If trees didn't exist, plants likely didn't either. Given their primary function in any basic ecosystem, that had some interesting implications on what sort of world Rinzler came from.

"Well, since there's a lot that isn't familiar to you, can you give me examples of what MIGHT be something you'd see back in your world?"

xD I can understand that. glitchycat June 26 2011, 19:54:50 UTC
It was a little early for him to understand all of the similarities - Rinzler knew that much. There were a few things he had noticed so far though.

We have drinking glasses, buildings, light cycles, data access panels (though ours are much more advanced), umbrellas, furniture, and lights, though our rooms are lit from the floor, not the ceiling, and do not require a switch to trigger.

Maybe there was more than that, or perhaps that was all there was.

From that list, that meant there were a few similarities to consider at the very least. It sounded like a world that was contained in some kind of internal system.

To be honest, Roy had a difficult time imagining it.

"And so far, everything else is alien to you? Even the celestial bodies and the atmosphere, I take it."

Rinzler nodded his head. It wasn't entirely true, but the generalization was close enough. He decided to explain further.

We do not have a sun or moon. If they all look like these, it is for the best. Rikku said that you have rain as well. Our simulations have grown in power over time to produce rain as well. Everything else is alien so far. The similarities are few.
