Characters: Vriska Serket and John Egbert Location: Shibusen jail. Rating: PG-13 Time: November 4 Description: John pays a visit to everybody's favourite spidertroll.
If he was going to be honest, he had put off his plans to visit Vriska quite a bit.
Of course, there was that whole Halloween fiasco too! That definitely set things back. But as much as he wanted to know why this admittedly really cool troll that he met attacked this also really cool friend that he made, it was all so confusing and he really didn't know how to handle this! Of course attacking Kurt was wrong, and it was angering to think about, but--...
But!
... bluhhh. He didn't know how to finish that statement.
That was why he had to come here eventually, though!! He had to figure all this out eventually, however much it befuddled him.
He entered the visiting area, spotting a single chair to sit on. And wow, Vriska looked down, to say the least! And for a brief moment, John forgot all of the chaos with the Kurt attack and couldn't help but feel... well, sad, to be honest. He knew that sitting in here for so long would make him go pretty nuts!
So he sat down, and spoke with wariness and hesitance...
Did you want me to explain why she's surprised in this tag, or save it?visioneightfoldApril 23 2011, 19:26:05 UTC
"...John?" Vriska was momentarily taken off guard, and it showed--there was genuine surprise in her voice and features, even if only for a second. And for good reason.
It was covered up quickly.
"What took you so long? I've been waiting for you!" This was a complete lie, but the instant she said it, it became true. She suddenly looked a lot less afflicted and tragic; if anything she managed to look both demanding and tired at the same time.

"Geez!", John retorted, with a roll of his eyes and a definite tone of humor to his voice, scooching his chair closer to the cell. "Excuse me, Miss Vriska McBossypants, I will definitely try and visit you faster next time. It is not like I was busy or anything!"
... wait, shit! He was supposed to be mad at her, and this was definitely not how a mad person acted around someone who attacked their friend, that was for sure.
But... it was much too easy to fall back into their usual pattern, because her words were just so... well, hilariously Vriska. Even after just hanging out with her a few times, it was becoming very easy to notice that much! John was becoming oh-so-accustomed to that bluh bluh bossy attitude, in a very similar way to how Karkat's ranting and raving was now just a funny sort of thing.
I... this is kind of WIP but. visioneightfoldApril 26 2011, 03:15:43 UTC
Vriska managed to replace the curl of her lip with a roll of her eyes, matching John's and for a minute syncing them up in a kind of weird cycle. Then the moment passed and everything seemed even grimmer and more antagonising than before.
"Why? What have you been doing that was so much more important?" It was more a demand than a question, but--well. She couldn't exactly help herself.
What had John been doing--what had anyone been doing, besides getting their horns handed to them, their city wrecked, and hauling the mutilated bodies out of the streets? (Vriska had noticed bitterly, inevitably, that none of the perpetrators there seemed to be sharing her punishment.)
What was he doing here? Vriska, realistically or not, had assumed that John--like Kanaya, like Tavros, like everyone and everything else in this godforsaken fucking city--had been turned against her, that he hated her. And why wouldn't he? When she'd stabbed that pathetic human girl friend of his, it had been with vengeance, with relish and spite and anger (and some
