Characters: Kana & Karkat, later Nepeta Location: Karkat's apartment Rating: PG Time: 10/26, night Description: Slumber party time, in which they'll watch romcoms and do each other's nails and may or may not get pale.
As the sun goes down, Karkat's health improves a bit. He at least finds the energy to clean up a little and take some medicine. He wasn't sure about having another conversation about everything that's been going on, but if worse comes to worst they can always put that off and enjoy some of this fine cinema he rented. Wristcutters in particular turned out to be a lot better than he thought it'd be.
At the knock he sighs, gets up, grabs a tissue, and heads over to answer while blowing his nose. Yeah, it's Kanaya out there.
"Okay, okay, give me a second here..."
He's had new locks installed since Vriska broke in, and it takes him a few moments to get the door open.
She waits, patiently, for him to get to all of his locks. There really are a lot, and she's a little surprised. She can hear him blowing his nose on the other side, and when he opens the door, she doesn't think he looks too good.
"It's just a cold," he grumps, waving off her concern. "I'll be fine."
He stands aside to let her in. Like a true nocturnal troll, he's put up heavy curtains to block out the natural light. The hive looks about the same, day or night. At least he had the courtesy to turn on a couple of lights.
It's sparse, but Kanaya hadn't expected anything different. She wants to get in there and make it more bright, more decorated, but the thought that this is not her hive barely stops her. She has her priorities, clearly.
"All right, if you say so," she says, and she sounds a little bit distracted.
Karkat closes and locks the door behind her. With Vriska gone he's gotten a bit lax about security, but he's still not the kind to leave his hive unsecured.
As Kanaya goes in further she can see he hasn't done much with the place. The most striking thing about it is the large map of Death City with various marks on it -- potential Kinshin egg locations, the other trolls' hives, his Watch patrol.
And some romcom posters, because let's face it, he's Karkat.
"Yeah," he replies, a bit more subdued as he catches her tone of voice. "Something wrong?"

"Should I come back at another time?"
