[ Kurt has prepared a 6 song setlist that is heavy on the Broadway numbers. He'll be performing each of these songs in this order throughout the night, not one after the other but with breaks of 20-30 minutes between them:

Just Dance - Lady Gaga [a down-tempo acoustic version]

Defying Gravity - Wicked [He loves the song too much NOT to do it]

They'll be played in this order. And yes, he can sing those high notes. Also, yes, he'll be singing 'Just Dance' using his lower range. There will be improvised dancing, too. Feel free to congratulate him, heckle him, throw rotten fruit, whatever you want! ]

[ Kurt notices him halfway through one of his songs and it takes all the stage-presence he's got to recover a poorly executed dance move when he does - because wow, who or what is this... guy or thing? At any rate, they seem interested, so Kurt nervously approaches after the song is finished. ]

[Yes so after having spent the day shopping for nice clothes and stuff Phoenix is at the party, looking very very different from how he usually is with his hobo getup. For tonight he's in a suit and all that, has shaved and even (reluctantly) made do without his beanie hat. Juuuust for tonight.

And thus here he is now, lingering at the entrance as he fiddles with the colour of his coat while waiting for Marie to arrive. She should arrive soon, hopefully...]

[Marie does arrive without much delay, wearing a simple sleeveless black dress and a nice necklace. The clothes aren't really that different from what she normally wears around Shibusen. The difference, instead, can be seen in how happy and stress-free she appears and in how suddenly well-maintained her hair looks. No more desert frizzles tonight!]

I'm glad you didn't stand me up, Phoenix. [She smiles, nervously, suddenly embarrassed after speaking.]

[Ah, there's the woman of the night. Phoenix perks up when he sees her approaching, stopping his fiddling as he straightens himself off the wall he was leaning on, tucks his hands into the pockets of his pants and inclines his head in greeting, smiling back in return.]

It would be a shame for me if I had to make somebody like you wait for me.

[Ew, suits. L isn't one to dress up, even to formal events. He's quite fond of his baggy, white, long-sleeve shirt and worn-out jeans, but alas, having Kira as a roommate doesn't just mean L can stalk him easier, it also just so happens that when stalking said mass murderer and following him to formal parties, said mass murder is going to force you to dress nicely in order to keep up appearances. Light has managed to get L into a black suit with a white dress shirt and a black tie tied loosely around his neck (a picture link can be found in the above comment). However, if one looks closely, one may notice the lack of socks on the detective's feet. Shoes, yes, but socks? L refuses to wear them, even with Princess Yagami fussing over what he'll look like to other guests. Though not even the magical powers of a stiff suit can cure L's posture.

Only time will tell what sort of embarrassing things L will get into. Will Light get his hope? Or will it be smashed?]

[Cheshire smiled a bit more seeing the messily dressed man and the rather sour one next to him. He sits in front of the untidy one with his usual smile and stares at him for a moment before speaking up.]

That doesn't suit you at all. I've never been suited for one either.

[In the moments following this particular conversation, Black★Star has taken it upon himself to shed himself of every article of clothing and bolt through the entirety of the premises naked. If you're at the party, you've seen him, because he has solemnly sworn to ensure that every single person witnesses the display before he either makes a daring escape, or is finally taken down by Guests, Faculty or both.]

Kids these days appropriately sums up his thoughts, nevermind that the age difference between him and Black*Star probably wasn't all that significant. ]
