Papa was very eager to dance with Maka! In fact, he had barely eaten, so eager was he to dance with his baby girl! Clovis was a really awesome friend for helping him.

T-two dances...

Maka had spend most of the party deliberately avoiding Papa. She was definitely procrastinating, as she knew there was absolutely no chance of her getting out of these dances, but she was dreading them, and therefore putting them off as long as possible.

Unfortunately, she had lost sight of Soul at one point, and while she was looking for him, she saw Papa not far away, his eyes falling on her. Her expression turned awkward as she glanced around for a quick escape, but the area was crowded and she was essentially trapped.

Incredibly trapped, in fact. Spirit was giving Maka a look that might have passed off for shy if they weren't so intense. Dance with meeee, his bright blue eyes said.

He'd even worn his best suit (that still looked like his every day clothes), and his tie was new (and still looked like usual)! In the process of spiffing Phoenix up, Spirit had also had the chance to shop for himself, which was nice because Kami used to do it for him. Said he tended to buy the same thing over and over, the silly woman...

[Almost as if fitting the scene in an oddly perfect manner, Black★Star is easing the indescribable pain of having to humour his lessers - everybody else - by gorging himself senseless. The activity in itself only seems to enhance his rather unkempt appearance, but to his credit, he did at least show up in a suit. Even if it does hang off of him in a scruffy manner that would make Death the Kid have a seizure.
