You are led down the stairs and through the streets. Here, the shops all have a distinct holloween to them, but the paths are made of cobblestone and are pretty quaint.

"Shibusen will provide for your basic necessities, no worries. If you see the Holocaust Mall over there, the grocery should have everything you need for your every day needs. However and unfortunately, we can't fund your more expensive luxuries, so you'll need to gain employment for that if you like. We're currently coordinating with the rest of the city for job openings that you can apply to. The bank is accepting accounts from you, too, so no worries there."

There was a slight tilt of her head, what passed for the most dignified shrug the little blonde could manage. "It is merely a matter of practicality, as we have been summoned to participate in a war."

If she was offended in any way, it didn't reflect in her expression; though the truth was that she was more bewildered than anything.

"Sunlight is rather sporadic in my homeland," Saber commented matter-of-factly. "It rains oft-times in the springtime, autumn, and winter."

"Oh! But this place is full of sunlight." Oh dear, she was going to be so toasty if she stays under the sun for so long. And she was so pretty, too. The point about the war completely went over his head as he focused on the more important things. "You'll need to use sunblock, definitely. They come in bottles that you can get in the mall."

The Holy Grail tended to provide Servants the pertinent information about the era they were summoned to. But it did not provide everything...and that was only when there was a Grail to do so in the first place.

"...Sunblock?" she asked, her curiosity slipping through her mask ever so slightly.

Oh, he'd caught her curiosity! This pleased Spirit a lot - he just liked pretty girls, all right! But he enthusiastically launched into an explanation. "Sunblock is this liquid or lotion you put on your skin to block off the sun's more harmful UV rays. It's the light from the sun that makes you tan and your skin get darker! It's all sorts of bad for your skin."

"I see..." Saber replied, still somewhat curious. Admittedly, she had difficulty understanding how the sun could be harmful, of all things. But what was stranger to her was having to worry about such things now that she was human once again.

"Can this 'sunblock' be found in the 'mall', as well?"

"Yes!" Spirit replied, still excitable as usual. "The mall has sunblock." And bikinis and swimwear… "And other things. It's like a big building full of stores, like a market but indoors.

Saber thought back briefly to the time she had spent with the Einzbern homunculus, escorting her around Fuyuki City disguised as a wealthy young man.

"I might be familiar with such an establishment, come to think of it," she commented almost to herself, clasping her chin between her thumb and index finger.

"It's handy! And also airconditioned. Tell you what, if you have difficulty getting around, I'll escort you! It'll be like a date!" A particularly wide grin, just for you!

A look of innocent confusion crossed her face, albeit subtly.

"...A date?"

Oh-- an innocent! Spirit very carefully decided to word it in a way that would not earn him a punch to the gut.

"Just spending time together!"

The confusion persisted, and Saber indulged her curiosity. Though the City appeared to be in the same era as Fuyuki, any similarities were superficial.

"If that is all it is, then I have experienced many of these 'dates'," she observed.

-- She had? Oh, but of course they were talking about different things. How was he going to explain himself out of this corner.

"Dates are usually between a man and a woman who are romantically interested in each other," he finally started. "Although now, the term is ummm loosely used to call any two or so people hanging out in a more intimate way than casual ac-- acquaintances, yeah!" Oh, dear lord, please don't kill him.

Fortunately for Spirit, the King of Knights took no offence, merely finding it curious or perhaps odd. Moreover, there remained only one man who was capable of truly angering her, and if they were wise, they would not summon
him to Shibusen.

"Ah. So it would only seem like a 'date' to a casual observer," Saber mused. "An escort would be a more apt term, I would think. I am familiar with that, as well."

Sorry for the late! daddyscythe June 7 2010, 07:22:15 UTC
Ah! That was a better word, yes.

"An escort sounds fine!" he conceded, immediately returning his good cheer when she did not seem to be offended.
