Do any of you ever - I don't know - wonder about why you're here?
You know. Your "reason for being" or "raison d'etre" as someone I used to know called it.

I know it may be a morbid question but I'm really just curious and sleepless, at the moment.
Why do all of you think you're here? Not necessarily just Death City but... alive at all?

The reason we're here in Death City is to fight this war; that much is obvious. A 'reason for existence', however... is there a need to have one?

I wasn't really talking about Death City... this place is sort of a reprieve from where I'm from.

.. I'm not sure about the answer to that, either. I feel like there should be, somehow.

Understandable.

As for anything else, we'll accomplish as much as we can in our lifetimes in pursuit of our individual goals. I would think that should be enough.
