Do any of you ever - I don't know - wonder about why you're here?
You know. Your "reason for being" or "raison d'etre" as someone I used to know called it.

I know it may be a morbid question but I'm really just curious and sleepless, at the moment.
Why do all of you think you're here? Not necessarily just Death City but... alive at all?

Why are we alive, hmm... always such a troubling question.

It either implies the pointlessness of existence or the presence of a higher being, which has control and possibly a whimsy.

Funny you should mention high beings with whimsy - I think I knew one back where I lived before.
Either way, it might mean we are toys for said higher power.

Yes. I don't necessarily know if I would call them 'gods' though.
Since.. they could be cloned, and they could die.

I haven't been able to figure out much more about them since I've been here.
It's a little hard to stay on the trail from far away. I can't even observe Vincent from here.

But I'm sure you could assume that.
