[The camera turns on to view a quiet Nura, sitting on the couch in her pajamas of tank top and shorts, her hair an unusual mess. She's resting her chin against her knees, looking gloomily down at the camera.]

Well... [she finally says.] That was fun, wasn't it? [a short, sad laugh follows.] Haven't seen something like what we've seen... [She looks ( Read more... )

I'd say it looked tiring in more ways than one.

[ If Nura thought that she could escape her partner by waking up early, well, she was wrong. Iceland couldn't really sleep, mostly because of the thoughts that's racing through his mind. He couldn't tune out those thoughts, nor could he write them down. It was a real nightmare; lying awake all night, staring at the ceiling, plagued by thoughts that's far from nice. Most of them, anyway. But it happened from time to time, and shit also happens from time to time. He told himself that everything was fine now, that it was all over and done with, but it doesn't work. He was still lying awake, staring at the ceiling, as if it was a screen that played out his thoughts ( ... )

[Nura hadn't gotten a wink of sleep, except for the drooping of her eyes for a couple hours before one pot of coffee did its job with the richness of strong caffeine. If she weren't so melancholy, she'd be up and about, hyper as ever with a quick-to-do attitude that too much coffee always gave her.

But Nura was not in a hyper mood. She was still affected by what she'd seen in that building. Now Nura's seen many things she didn't like. She'd seen things from childhood, to teenage, to even far above the Mundane World, walking upon the Spirit Plane. She'd seen torture and discord, and she'd witnessed quite a bit of savagery. But none of that was as close to hell as what Nura had seen in that building. Poor Sandry...

When she realized that she wasn't the only one up at this early hour - her senses have always been heightened thanks to honing her abilities around her precognitions - she lifts her head a bit. But doesn't say anything, until she's sure the air isn't too tense.]

Couldn't sleep either?

[ Unlike Nura, what he ---no, they, had seen in the building didn't shake his foundations that much. It probably comes in one package with being a Nation. Maybe he was a peaceful Nation nowadays, just like the rest of his so-called family, but things didn't start out that way. His people need to shape order out of chaos. His people need to struggle. He needs to struggle. Sometimes he lie awake at night, wondering how the hell does he survive through all the chaos and madness. But then again, he wasn't the only one. It's the curse of being a Nation. The curse of their existence, as he called it.

The thoughts that had kept him awake was consisted of things like where the rest of the witches were hiding, or did they do the same thing to a lot of people from all over the world. He inevitably thought about his people, and whether or not it's happening to them in this world, too, and how are they ---and everything's doing back home. It had been a while. ]

No, not really. [ Iceland responded with a slight shook of his head. It was a lie, ( ... )

[When Iceland sat down next to her, she smiles, reaching up to rub at an eye, feeling the sleepiness start to come back.]

I'm...no. Not really. [She reached up to push back her hair out of her eyes.] Didn't really do that much sleeping, actually. [She indicted with the jerk of her thumb towards the coffee mug and pot, sitting there on the coffee table, one empty, the other one-third full.]

I can beat someone over the head with my fist, too.

[She'd be more terse if not for her mood.]

I'm just...trying to settle my thoughts. That's all.

[There is a long pause, as Sandry figures out what to say.]

Thank you. For saving me.

[Oh, hello Sandry. You sound quite well today. Nura takes a breath before she speaks after a brief pause.]

You're welcome. I'm just glad that you're all right.

I'll be all right, I think. It's just a lot different, being home.

But it's nice.

Yes. [Soft pause.] It's much nicer to be home.

[Break.]

Did you visit the hospital already?
