[The camera turns on to view a quiet Nura, sitting on the couch in her pajamas of tank top and shorts, her hair an unusual mess. She's resting her chin against her knees, looking gloomily down at the camera.]

Well... [she finally says.] That was fun, wasn't it? [a short, sad laugh follows.] Haven't seen something like what we've seen... [She looks ( Read more... )

[ If Nura thought that she could escape her partner by waking up early, well, she was wrong. Iceland couldn't really sleep, mostly because of the thoughts that's racing through his mind. He couldn't tune out those thoughts, nor could he write them down. It was a real nightmare; lying awake all night, staring at the ceiling, plagued by thoughts that's far from nice. Most of them, anyway. But it happened from time to time, and shit also happens from time to time. He told himself that everything was fine now, that it was all over and done with, but it doesn't work. He was still lying awake, staring at the ceiling, as if it was a screen that played out his thoughts ( ... )

[Nura hadn't gotten a wink of sleep, except for the drooping of her eyes for a couple hours before one pot of coffee did its job with the richness of strong caffeine. If she weren't so melancholy, she'd be up and about, hyper as ever with a quick-to-do attitude that too much coffee always gave her.

But Nura was not in a hyper mood. She was still affected by what she'd seen in that building. Now Nura's seen many things she didn't like. She'd seen things from childhood, to teenage, to even far above the Mundane World, walking upon the Spirit Plane. She'd seen torture and discord, and she'd witnessed quite a bit of savagery. But none of that was as close to hell as what Nura had seen in that building. Poor Sandry...

When she realized that she wasn't the only one up at this early hour - her senses have always been heightened thanks to honing her abilities around her precognitions - she lifts her head a bit. But doesn't say anything, until she's sure the air isn't too tense.]

Couldn't sleep either?

[ Unlike Nura, what he ---no, they, had seen in the building didn't shake his foundations that much. It probably comes in one package with being a Nation. Maybe he was a peaceful Nation nowadays, just like the rest of his so-called family, but things didn't start out that way. His people need to shape order out of chaos. His people need to struggle. He needs to struggle. Sometimes he lie awake at night, wondering how the hell does he survive through all the chaos and madness. But then again, he wasn't the only one. It's the curse of being a Nation. The curse of their existence, as he called it.

The thoughts that had kept him awake was consisted of things like where the rest of the witches were hiding, or did they do the same thing to a lot of people from all over the world. He inevitably thought about his people, and whether or not it's happening to them in this world, too, and how are they ---and everything's doing back home. It had been a while. ]

No, not really. [ Iceland responded with a slight shook of his head. It was a lie, ( ... )

[When Iceland sat down next to her, she smiles, reaching up to rub at an eye, feeling the sleepiness start to come back.]

I'm...no. Not really. [She reached up to push back her hair out of her eyes.] Didn't really do that much sleeping, actually. [She indicted with the jerk of her thumb towards the coffee mug and pot, sitting there on the coffee table, one empty, the other one-third full.]

[ The sleepiness haven't strike him. At least, not yet. Which is a strange thing, since he haven't had any coffee. ]

I'd figured as much. [ Observing her for a few seconds, and then followed the jerk of her thumb with his gaze. There's a considerable amount of pause after that. He was trying to figure out what to say next. ] You know, [ He said carefully, returning his gaze to her. ] you can sleep in my room if you want to. I'll keep you company. [ Then he quickly added: ] Don't take it the wrong way. I'm not sure if it'll help or not, though.

[ He knows that it sounds stupid, but maybe the "two is better than one" principle applies in this matter, too. ]

It's...it's all right, Eiríkur [A feeling of comfort did happen to her, though.] I don't have many nightmares, anyways... [She needed her precognition to have the horrible, tear-bringing visions that caused her to hide her face for a while before coming out with it.]

But... [What was she doing?] You can stay here. On the couch. We me. If you'd like.

Are you sure? [ The Nation in question gave her an incredulous look. ] Of course you don't. You need to be fast asleep in order to have nightmares. And you can't, right? So unless you can dream while you were awake...

[ His true intention was to tease her and lighten up the situation, even if only a little, but somehow he sounded more serious than what he intended to be and trailed off in the end. ]

Sure. [ Looked away to hide the fact that he felt a little embarrassed by that. ] If we fell asleep piling on each other, I'm going to blame you, though.

[ There's probably a small smile hidden somewhere in there. ]

It was a talent of mine with my precognitive power. [She'd disappear mentally for an amount of minutes, then pop right back, a vision in her head.]

Aren't I always the one with the blame? [She smiled softly, leaning her head on his shoulder.] I'm a sound sleeper, so you should be fine. [That was a lie, because she was anything but a sound sleeper, but without her precognitions to give her the willies in the middle of the night...]

That must be troublesome. [ He shifted his gaze back to her. Sure, he knows about the power she used to have, but he doesn't know about the details. He never asked because he thought that it was a sensitive thing. After all, his newly-acquired humanity was quite a sensitive matter, even though he would be more than happy to complain about it. ] No, you're not. I am.

[ After all, if something bad happened, it's always easy to blame your fatherland. Oddly, he said that with a small smile on his face, mirroring hers. ]

That's good to hear. I'd rather not have you kick me in the face or something.

[ He extends an arm and pulled her into a side hug. ]

[Nura opened her mouth to respond to the 'troublesome' part, but shut it when he reached the part of blame. She sighed, smiling softly.] You're too hard on yourself, sometimes.

[His arm was warm, as was the kind gesture behind it.] I'm more of a "punches" kind of girl.

I'm not. It's true. [ Brief pause. ] Maybe you are.

[ After all, having powers must be really hard. He can not only imagine, because he's not a regular human either. He can certainly relate. ]

Well, as long as you don't transform partially and stab me in the face...

Oh sure. [She rolled her eyes at him, albeit, smiling.]

I have better restraint than that, you know.

I'd figured as much.

[ Casts her a playful glance. ]

Are you sure? I don't want to wake up two days later in the Horrorspital, bleeding my brains out.

[Nura laughed.]

Yes, I'm sure! [She placed a kiss on his cheek, still laughing.]

You're just too good for me, you know that?

That's good. [ let out a small chuckle but stopped after she'd placed a kiss on his cheek. and what she said next is, well, surprising. to put it mildly. ] N- no, I didn't know that. [ activating iceland's automatic reaction in 3, 2, 1 ] And that's not true. [ pause, starts to blush. ] It's the other way around.
