If you're going to bring flowers, I'd recommend red carnations because those are symbolic of passion which is very necessary!

Sing? [He tries to imagine that for a moment and just...blanks.] Perhaps I'll focus on cooking. [Not that he has a whole lot of experience with that either, but it seems easier to learn.]

I don't see any point in being ambiguous. Something straightforward is probably better.

Straightforward and obvious aren't necessarily the same thing, however. "Obvious" only means that your intentions are clear, whereas "straightforward" would imply that you're aiming right for your goal with no concern for politeness or the other person's feelings.

Now, if you wish to be really straightforward, I suppose you could just grab the person inappropriately, or say you want to sleep with them, but if your feeligs aren't returned then that likely won't end very well. Really, even if the feelings are returned it would likely only insult them.
