[The video turns on and the feed displays a pale teenager with equally pale hair. His face is very close to the mirror and it's not hard to notice that his eyes are red and that yes, he's smiling at the camera. It's only an illusion, but it's rather easy to think and imagine that he's actually smiling at you, the viewer

Are you okay? [There's panic and worry in Lee's voice, all of his concern at first on Kaworu instead of himself. He tries to move off of the teen's back, mentally cursing his inability to grab the needed power to make the catch, then realizes he's unable to move.

And that he doesn't have arms to move with in the first place. His entire body feels odd, but natural at the same time. Rigid, but he can feel something inside that is almost like the gates but not quite- something that could be unlocked, but without the promise of power that the chakra gates carry with them.]

[There's a pained groan at first, Kaworu's body twitching for a moment before he decided to avoid moving at all. Everything hurt too much and he was still waiting for the blood rush to end.]

Nnngh...

[He decides to open his eyes instead, though it took too much effort to do so. Where was the voice coming from?]

[The heavy weight on Kaworu's back likely isn't helping at all, but despite Lee's attempts, he's still unable to roll off.]

Can you hear me?

[No comment but...]

[Genesis descends the steps down to where Kaworu and Lee were. So, this was the stair theory! A little part of him that still kept the crazies was very amused.

Then again, he is a bit amused, calmly smiling at this all.]

Well, well, well...

Not just one, but two decided to fall.

[It looks like a situation worth helping out in, though. He picks up the black staff that had fallen on the boy and puts it aside. Carefully, he turns the boy over, looking for which injuries to take caution with.]

[He turns his head a little, feeling the pain everywhere. Speaking would be dangerous, he thought idly, searching inwardly and feeling a few broken ribs. Maybe a puncture wound or two. He opens his mouth to speak but blood trickles from his mouth. A hindrance, if nothing else.]

Is he alright?

[Action]

So badly injured and yet the first thing that comes from your mouth is asking if the other person is alright.

[Genesis looks over at the black staff he had put aside.]

I believe he has turned into a weapon.

[Action]

I am fine! [The protest is swift, though Lee can't do much more than talk right now.]

I am sorry, I did not notice him soon enough. Is he okay?

[sandsworn]

[Gaara watches the entire thing happen through his communicator. At the sight of Lee plummeting toward the ground, something close to panic flutters in his chest. Even knowing that a fall like this probably won't kill Lee, he forgets to breathe for a moment.]

Lee? Lee!

[He hears Lee's voice emanating from the black staff, and the knot inside him loosens, but just a little. Knowing that people here can transform into weapons is one thing. Seeing it happen in front of his eyes is something else.]

Lee, what the hell were you thinking?

[Anger creeps into his normally monotone voice. In the back of his mind, he wonders why this rattles him so much.]

I ordered you not to take any needless risks. And the moment I leave you alone, you jump off a balcony.

[The angle of the video from Lee's communicator is odd, but it shows Genesis checking over Kaworu after setting Lee's weapon form aside. The staff is a bit thicker than normal for one of its length, made of metal rather than wood, and the glossy surface has a glimpse of Lee's reflection in it. His expression is a mixture of confusion, worry, and stubborness.]

But he was jumping! I did not have a choice!

[Gaara glares at the screen. The fact that he's suddenly talking to a reflection in a staff is a little strange, but it barely registers next to his growing anger.]

Then he's an even bigger idiot than you are. Where is he? If he's still alive, I'm going to kill him.

[Lee's been exposed to enough of those death glares over the past two days that this one doesn't really seem to phase him.]

Someone is helping him. And he is still breathing, and you are not going to kill anyone. [It's every bit as much of an order as Gaara's own, Lee's tone both stubborn and stern.

It's a bit less effective, coming from a staff.]

[He's here to baffle you, Joshua, that's what. Kaworu wouldn't be able to see you, though... incapacitated as he is.]

I think so. At least, he is talking, but I am not sure if he is really okay. [The voice is coming from the black staff lying on the ground.]
