[Lain pauses a moment, tilting her head curiously as she tries to figure out what in the world Sollux just said.

But it works itself out quickly and she smiles a little] A dog. Yes. He's a doberman, I think!

[She pulls the squirming puppy onto her lap, where it lays and pants after its hard play session of tummy rubs and ear scritches. Lain giggles a little] Do you not like dogs?

They should be. You can train a dog to do tricks, and to protect you and your home from invaders. I think they're only dangerous if you try to break in...

Messy? [She looks at the puppy. It doesn't look particularly messy...right now.] I don't know... I never had a dog before.

[She turns and smiles at Hanabi, the puppy barking and making his way over to run around the other girl's heels]

[Hanabi reaches down and lets the puppy sniff her hand for a moment before giving him a light pat on the head. She smiles a little at Lain.]

He's really energetic.

[Hopping over the back of the couch, Hanabi goes and retrieves the present she got for Lain. One part of the package has a rectangular box shape. The other part is squishier. Lain's gift? A set of winter boots in her size and a warm sweater.]

He's going to keep us all on our toes, I think.

[she takes the presents, but doesn't open them right away. Instead she jumps up to grab her present and hand it over, before sitting down to open her own.]

Oh! [She smiles, looking to Hanabi in pleasant surprise] I love them! Thank you! [brb pulling the sweater on RIGHT NOW]

At this rate the dog might just end up with a bunch of different names. I like it though!
