...

I doubt that, seeing as it says this story is thousands of years old.

[Bold just looks amused] You must be new.

Hellooo there are aliens here and people from the 1800s, and you're doubting I might have been there a thousand years ago or lived that long?

I've meet people who've been around for tens of thousands of years. You've got sooo much to learn, young grasshopper.

[He sighs a little. Considering that he was from a different world perhaps all of that wasn't so far-fetched. But his mind is slightly one-tracked right now so he hadn't thought to consider it.]

...I see your point. I have met entities that are thousands of years old, though not in this place to my knowledge.

How are you sure it's right, then?

Of course it's accurate, or at least the important parts.

They are? You have no doubts?

If I did, I would be a very poor believer indeed. I prefer not to doubt my God.

... what makes you think it's not accurate?

... There was a tale with some similarities where I come from that I learned was not true.

What similarities? And well, I don't know if there's really any way to prove it, either way.

A miraculous power was used to conceive a child. All the people of Ayuthay were told this. However, a few months ago my uncle told me it was not true.

It apparently is to this festival. I do not know if it has any other importance.

[A laugh.]

People really don't believe in the stories to the letter any more. They still tell them for the spirit of the stories and the lessons, or tradition, or something like that. Not many people put much thought into it.

I see. And people are not confused or troubled if something is revealed to not be true?

Some people out there outright ignore anything that proves the stories untrue, but the sane population tend to be okay with it.

So they either deny it or are not bothered? ... [To be fair this was a totally different situation...] That does make sense.
