[She's nineteen now-- still a tiny girl, but she no longer wears her hair in pigtails, and she's obviously grown up over the past few years. She's a three star meister now, too. It's a difficult choice, but there's a lot of stuff that Madoka has to do back home-- she can't afford to really stay behind.

However, she does have a plan. Maybe.

Regardless, there are still tears as she thinks of everyone that she will be leaving behind, and as she waits to say goodbye to them all.]

[and there's john, standing not so far away. first it might have been just conversations over their shared experiences of, well, godhood, but... after spending quite some time together and fighting on the same side over these five years, he definitely thinks of her as a good friend by this point.

[he's liked a lot about staying here, really. it's a new way of life that he's taken full advantage of, and he's even found it unexpectedly satisfying. learning to cook and take care of himself and interact with people on an equal level.

part of him wants to stay. he wouldn't admit that that part even existed, but he's proud of what he's accomplished here, and he's grown fond of this world with all its novelty and the people he's met here.

but he's a king, and there's a country full of people back home that rely on him. to abandon all that for some simpler pleasures, to let his country fall into the hands of whatever greedy noble first jumped to take his place...well, that would be just irresponsible. being a king comes with a lot of perks, so it's too be expected that one must give a great deal up for it in return. here, he knows he has to consider his duties before what he wants for himself.]

he hadn't expected it to be, but then he caught a glance of that shock of blond hair across the room and Sasuke felt his chest clench.

he had half a mind to turn on heel and march right out. not seeing him- it would be far, far easier. but he doesn't. he hesitates, instead, swallows thickly and grapples for the courage to approach his old partner.

[he notices sasuke's approach out of the corner of his eye, picking out the dark figure from the crowd too easily, and it's only with after a moment of hesitation that he turns to face him. even after everything that has happened -- all the fighting alongside each other and then fighting with each other, splitting up and anger and eventually talking things out and coming to a more calm acceptance -- even still, he feels a little stiff and awkward around his old partner.

[as always, Saralegui voices in that blasé way of his the things Sasuke has never been able to come straight up and speak. he has, in a way, come to say goodbye- though the thought, like the statement aloud, almost makes him flinch.

he suppresses it, and instead gives Saralegui a searching, intense sort of look.]

They won't recognize you. [it's not an answer, or really much of anything- aside from Sasuke voicing aloud that he's noticed the changes as much as he's experienced them.]
