Anise and Jazz | Around Afternoon | chestnuts booth gogotokunaga September 9 2011, 03:43:17 UTC
Just as Anise promised a couple of days ago, she was waiting for Jazz in hopes to find some lunch around here. They hit it off pretty well and the younger girl was interested in talking to her. She spent a good deal in the afternoon trying to find her and eventually settled with the chestnuts booth. Hopefully, she'll find her there.

The smell was really what brought her here, she loved chestnuts. She usually tried to hunt them down back in Amnity Park. While she walked she kept her eyes open for brown hair and the familiar face of Anise.

She smiled widely when she spotted Anise at the chestnut booth, waving at her. "Anise!"

"There you are, Jazz!' She shouted before walking up to her. "Do you realize how long I waited for you over here?" More like 10 minutes at most but she wasn't going to tell her that. Soon after that, she giggled letting Jazz know she was just teasing.

"I'm kidding but you still have to repay me by spending the afternoon with me!"

She caught the teasing tone but put her hands on her hips anyways before just not being able to keep up the 'annoyed' facade and laughing. "Sorry! I keep getting distracted by the decorations."

Jazz lets her smile soften, "Oh hey that's not a repay. I'd be glad to spend the day with you!" She looks at the chestnuts, "I think we should try those first."

Anise pouted before smiling once more. "Yea, you better!"

With that said, she leaned in closer to see what Jazz was holding. "Chestnuts? What does that have to do with this festival?" She had roasted chestnuts before but not really too sure how they connect with Christmas...

Another laugh and she held up her right hand, too fingers straight up, "Scout's honour."

The older girl looked at the bag before offering some to Anise, "It's a sort of tradition. At least on my world, and here too I guess. Heh, when I was little I always thought it was just because of this really old song."

Anise blinked. "Old song? How does it go?" While it wasn't that strange of a concept, it was still kind of odd to eat something that a song told them to. She understands that sometimes people in Daath would eat something because a preacher told them but...songs?

"Uh, heh...I don't really sing very well. But it's just a song about what sort things families do at Christmas. It's actually called The Christmas Song." She shrugs and eats a few of the chestnuts, "I just think they're pretty tasty."

"Hm..." Anise couldn't argue with that. Sometimes traditions are just the way it is. She looks at the chestnuts and tries to take one from Jazz. "Can I have one?"

"Sure." She holds out the bag. Traditions were quite often pretty strange but probably because the real meaning was lost somewhere along the way.

"Have you seen any of the performances?"

She peels off the nut before munching on it. As she listens to Jazz's question, she shakes her head. "Nope, but I do know that Shin is going to be performing somewhere." Munch. Munch. "Don't know should I go or not."

Munching away as well, "Is Shin a friend of yours?" She looks off towards the stage for a second before glancing back at Anise, "It might be worth while too."

"Mhmm!" She said before she went grabbed another one. "He was one of the first people I met here too!" Now that she put it that way. "Maybe it would be worth it! I haven't seen a show like that before. Especially not with those instruments before!"

"Do you know what kind of music he plays?" So okay with sharing. "I don't really listen to music but I don't mind it." She pauses then gives a big of a laugh, "Just, don't ask me to sing, okay?"

"Oh, I'm pretty sure you're good at singing! I still want to hear it!" Now Anise was being a little too persistent. "Hm...I'm not too sure, all I know is that he is part of...a 'band'?"

jazz_enpsyche September 16 2011, 03:46:58 UTC
"Actually no. The last time I sang I ended up covered in...well tomatoes were on sale." Of course she had been on stage in front of hundreds of people. What a way to discover her lack of talent.

"Oh. That means that he has friends that lay instruments with him. If he's around our age then he probably plays some sort of rock music."
