Takuto stared down at the piles and piles of roman candles and mortars and boxes of things that were supposed to spin and make screaming noises. He really was a fan of fireworks.

He held a flashlight over the boxes, and wondered where the fireworks team should start first. Maybe they should have a giant rainbowy explosion as the finale? He started picking things up and inspecting their labels.

Takuto hesitated for a moment, and then nodded a little awkwardly. "Right?" He had never intentionally used fireworks as weaponry, though he did vividly remember the incident that had resulted in his dorm room catching on fire.

"So, which do you think we should start with?" he asked.

Takuto gestured as he spoke. "Well, all the fireworks are over here, but there's an area over there where we're supposed to light them. And it looks like the whole section's roped off." He shrugged. "As long as we don't knock anything over, I'm sure it'll be just fine."

Do you ever write something, and then realize it should never be taken out of context? gingaprettyboy September 9 2011, 06:05:06 UTC
Takuto shrugged. "It might be in one of the boxes around here?" He'd never used so much protection before, but he'd never dealt with anything quite this explosive.

"Well... if we don't have any, I guess we'll just have to go without?" he hazarded. He shrugged and stood up straight, finished for now with peering into boxes. "Maybe we should just start organizing them by type and color?" Then they could figure out how they were going to do the show.

Seriously, have you ever looked at the labels on fireworks? They make no sense. gingaprettyboy September 21 2011, 07:33:11 UTC
"Er... no." He'd rather keep all his appendages intact, really.

He took note of the safety box's new placement, and then picked up a lot of very large mortars. "Here's a... 'Flowering Twinkle Tree?'" It was kind of a mouthful. "And a... 'Sparkling, Screaming Poinsettia?'" He frowned at the labels. "How are we supposed to know what these are?"

Who named them was a question he wasn't sure he wanted to ask....

I don't think they're technically legal in cities here, either, but indian reservations have them. gingaprettyboy September 24 2011, 04:42:11 UTC
Takuto shrugged. "I really have no idea. They sound kinda poetic though, right?"

He wasn't too bummed about pretty much winging it. In fact, that was more or less his approach to life, anyway. He lined up several with the word "crackles" in their titles, trying to get a handle on the organization.

[Takuto looks up suddenly, and then waves at Zhang He with enthusiasm. He still has a rather sizable mortar in one hand, but pays it no mind as he waves. The main area for the fireworks volunteers is cordoned off from the rest of the festival, so Takuto jogs up to the tiny rope barrier to greet the fellow pretty person.]

Oh, hi! Are you helping with fireworks, too?
