Chane, Dante, Ieyasu [CLOSED] [OUTER RESIDENTIAL QUARTER III] [MIDNIGHT] wittyreplyhere May 24 2011, 06:13:57 UTC
[The moment news got out that the kishin were coming Dante was already headed for his area. He was already outside when the announcement was made so it wasn't long before he reached the Outer Residential Quarter III. He wasn't with Date at the time, he figured the Meister would show up sooner or later. But he'd handle things here in the meantime.

One arm transformed and the other holding his gun, he was ready.]

[Upon hearing the announcement, Chane had been off duty for bordering three hours. It didn't take long for her to grab her knives and make her way back through the streets to her Watch zone though, slipping silently along like a shadow.

She had not met anyone outside of the two younger boys she shared a shift with, but when she arrived at the Third Outer Residential Quarter she was surprised to say she at least recognised the two men already there - she had seen Ieyasu a couple of times during the shift changes, but never long enough to talk to him, and she'd looked up some information on her Zone Leaders, so while she had never met Dante Sparda directly, she knew his face.

For a second, she hovered on the outskirts of where the two were stood, before walking over to meet them. They were here for the same reason as she was, and while she would prefer to do this alone, it was wiser to at least confirm a plan with other people first. Or at least let them know she was here.]

Others should be arriving soon. [That's what he assumed anyway. Date was the one who handled the finer details of such. Besides, there was no way his zone was going to be comprised of wusses. They'd better all be around or headed over or he was going to have to do something when this was all over.

He nods his head when he sees Chane. He hasn't really had the opportunity to get to know everyone under him, but he at least recognises faces.]

Weapon or Meister? [He knew Ieyasu was a Meister already and if they were lucky they had a temporary pair ready to go. Dante's unwilling to let anyone wield him.]

Kasuga, Michelle, Motochika, Shizuo [CLOSED] [OUTER RESIDENTIAL QUARTER II] [A BIT AFTER MIDNIGHT] anchorsurfs May 24 2011, 06:24:28 UTC
[There seemed to be no end to the kishin, Motochika tightened his grip on Shizuo and made a wide swing at another kishin which threatened to get past them, sending it flying back.

He didn't know how many of them were coming, but he intended on fighting until he physically couldn't.]

[ooc: I think the order should be Motochika/Shizuo/Michelle/Kasuga? And I will be occasionally taking over for Becci!]

[ While she had spent countless hours training and getting a feel for her form, Kasuga was far from used to being physically handled as a weapon. It was surreal, letting someone else move her while she could do nothing but trust the other woman to hit the target. It was obvious that Michelle was not used to handling a blade, but Kasuga would do all in her power to support her. ]

Don't stop now-- Keep your eye on them and your guard up--

[Claire wasn't partnered up just yet; something that he should have known to get, but who had the time when you were still learning about this place? And being a Meister, he had no idea when it came to Meister ability.

Nor what he wanted in a partner. For someone so used to working alone, the idea of a partner was fine, but he wanted one on his terms. Not dictated by anyone else.

So he was out with his own weapons; of he didn't have a Weapon, he would do what he could without.]

[Mifune's been doing his job pretty well, up to know, cutting a swathe through kishin eggs through the zone he had been assigned to. It's a more or less one-man job, though of course some of the guests had decided to help, along with the students.

But when the kishin eggs stop pouring in, Mifune turns to the rest of the city to continue the hunt, moving through alleys systematically to get rid of the monsters in the outer district. The city is too big and regardless of his strength, there is only one of him, so the going is slow. Hopefully, everyone else was doing their job.

It's on his way up to the western side of his district that he sees another man there. Partnerless, too.]

What are you doing?

[Claire looked up from where he was. This place wasn't bad, if he thought about it. Hell, the feeling of blood (not his, of course) on his clothes actually reminded him more of home then anything else.

He raised his hand in a friendly greeting.]

What does it look like I'm doin'?

Trying to get killed. [Or something similar. Although if he's alive right now, there's no real reason for Mifune to stop and watch. He doesn't seem to care very much, and instead spends his time looking at an empty alley to their side. Kishin egg, scuttling sounds.]

Okita had been in Death City now for more than a month, and despite that, there were days when the place still felt as foreign as it was, times when he marveled at the strangeness of it all and found himself wondering if he'd somehow gotten lost in a particularly fanciful dream.

And then there were nights like this one--when the call went out and danger was imminent, when the air was filled with tension and all of the townspeople took cover. And at those times, it seemed as if nothing had changed at all. The streets were not Kyoto's, and it wasn't Japan he fought to protect, but none of that mattered.

When the alert came, there was no question what he and his partner would do. As rough as things had been the last few days, neither of them could turn away from the fighting, though they might have had their own reasons for answering the call. Their skills were needed. For now, that was all that mattered ( ... )

Sooo what's the game plan, partner? :3 alastinglight May 25 2011, 13:56:47 UTC
The past few days had been a blur, and a matter of focusing on his work while completely avoiding the people he didn't have the strength to face he'd much rather not see. As such, while he'd never admit it out loud, in a way this attack on the city might give him the purpose he had been searching for, if only for a moment.

"It's too quiet here, isn't it?" he eventually said, breaking the silence between him and Okita. They did not talk all that often these days, beyond whatever was necessary.

Stab things until they're dead? mumyo_ken May 25 2011, 19:12:03 UTC
"I'm sure it won't be for long," he replied, staring out over the rubble that constituted zone three. It was one of the primary breaches in the city's defenses and it stood to reason it would be one of the areas chosen for attack. That was the reason they were there.

There were stronger and more experienced partnerships in Death City, certainly, but he and his partner knew battles, and knew how to fight them. Anything that tried to cross into the city was going to have to face them, first.

Ffff. That works! alastinglight May 27 2011, 14:38:30 UTC
"Likely not."

Takasugi stared out from the reflection of the blade he currently was, eyes narrowed, focused on the darkness beyond. The sounds of other battles being fought in the distance barely registered to him. There was nothing but him, his partner, and that moment.

True to Okita's word, neither of them had to wait all that much. The telltale glow and chittering of approaching kishin eggs started to appear from far off, straight ahead of them.

Lauren, Karkat [Closed] [Football Field] [12:30ish] youjustgotzized May 24 2011, 07:11:46 UTC
Lauren Zizes was currently cursing her bad luck, and being quite angry about it. How many times had she walked through Death City during the first couple days she'd been there, trying to memorize the layout of the city? And look at all the good it'd done. She had been on her way to meet with the rest of SEES, at least, so she thought. Instead, she had ended up getting lost along the way, and wound up running into a kishin. Unarmed. Great. Fun. Fabulous ( ... )

Karkat hadn't had time to get Terezi all the way to the shelter at Shibusen, but at least they dropped the kinshin egg that had attacked them before he sent her on her way. He was still trying to get to Financial/Services, weaving down side streets and taking way longer than he would have liked in an attempt to avoid attracting any more attention from eggs. It'd be just his luck to get hurt out here and start bleeding all over the damn place ( ... )

Lauren's head jerked towards the shout, eyes widening behind her glasses as Karkat sped towards them. She, however, was not the only one surprised. The kishin egg turned it's attention towards Karkat as well, falling into something of a crouch, a hiss much like a cat's coming from it's mouth as it bared fangs and claws in his direction, turning its attention to the more immediate threat.

Not for the first time since arriving in Death City, Karkat wished he'd been allowed to keep his sickles. It just made sense. Why strip people of their weapons and then ask them to fight your war? Even after spending nearly two months in Death City, that still pissed him off.

He could see that the kinshin egg was getting ready to attack, but that wasn't much of a problem. They were usually pretty stupid, at least in his limited experience, and this one was telegraphing its moves well in advance. If he could get around it, he could... well, okay, he could hope to god they resonated, because if not, they were both dead.

Karkat was starting to wish he'd thought this through a little more.

"Your hand, dammit! Hold out your fucking hand!"

He was probably going to have to jump for her, and he wanted her to be ready.
