[ even after the feed begins, it's a few moments before anything of note comes into view. the lens of the communicator shows the view of an open window. of the sky beyond and the light that filters in. it's nearly picturesque, at least until a soft jingling sound is heard, and a brief flicker of gold jewelry fills the screen. the communicator is ( Read more... )

One might want to question their opinion of themself if they find themself expecting to receive divine messages through a tool of daily use.

[Which is his version of saying "Hi, 'sup? Nice to see you. How have you been doing?"]

You're mortal now too. I'm not sure your messages can be called divine anymore.

[ read; i'm swell thanks for asking. you're looking fabulous today ]

That is not the point. I have always been a being with a beginning and an end. Only the circumstances changed.

['...Wait till you really see me.']

[ the frown at the corner of his mouth is small, but ganymede makes no effort to hide it ]
A beginning and an end.

[ ...i'm not sure i want to know. ]

Existence ends. A lack of life makes death inane. All that will be left is to pick up the shambles and lock the doors when the last one leaves.

[Don't be cruel.]

Then you don't intend on taking part in this war either?

[ don't tell me you're getting lonely already ]

I do not know. Choosing sides… There are too many unknowns to come to a decisive conclusion yet.

The idea of needing to stand on a side besides my own seems strange.

[Don't think he didn't notice the 'either' you used.]

You met the others.

[Hmph. It would be hard to miss what one has never has had. But I need someone to answer my questions without trying to adopt me.]

Yes. I suppose. [ can he call it meeting when he sees the image of one without speaking to him. speaks to another. and reads text from a third? it's easier to dismiss it. ]

I'm sure they've found someone to help them. [ the crease in his brow is small, but present regardless. as much as either zeus or apollo would ask for help anyway. ]

And you, Hades?

[ one would think that death would provide plentiful company, as all souls come to you eventually, right? i'm more than willing to answer anything you ask, but you'll need to do so without confusing me utterly in the process ]

You are more used to it than we. [It’s like with the three monkeys, isn’t it?]

They have. [As usual, there is no doubt in his voice.]

..... [What to answer? That a clown decided that they are brothers? That a fish-loving bat tried to feed him (or the other way around)? That he didn't get to sleep because a ceiling-cat of a brother had no sense of privacy?] I haven't.

[Would I be the way I am if that really were true? But talking in idiot is boring. :|]

[ he has a point, albeit- ganymede doesn't really consider himself terribly knowledgeable in that regard. after all, how long has it been since he's needed? his gaze falls for just a moment, before it's turned back to the text. the place hades would be. ]

-My room is on the third floor.

You want me to come?

[Text is insufficient to convoy his reaction, but so is speech in general. Would Hades be anywhere as expressive as the rest of the gods, his voice might have expressed mild surprise. He wasn't called often and this was one of the few mortals who knew who and what he was, as he had experienced his presence before. There was no reason for Ganymede to offer help.]

[ what does he say in response? somehow, to explain himself in his entirety- he can't quite bear the thought. still, he doesn't flinch before the god. perhaps it's acceptance. perhaps because ganymede himself has nothing to fear in hades- because how can one fear what they had all but asked for? what he had asked for and been denied? ]

-Speaking this way is tedious.
