[he's sitting on the couch lighting up a cigarette when Venkman comes knocking and nearly has a heart attack because of it. jumping up out of his seat, he runs to the door and throws it open, looking around conspiratorially.]

...Were you followed?

[it's really sad how used he is to this kind of thing. it's not even thanks to Mayfield either.]

[He pushes past Ray into the house.]

[he closes the door and locks it, then turns to Peter with his arms crossed.]

[He takes off his proton pack, resting it gently on the floor by the couch before stretching and plopping down on it.]

I've never heard of anything like it in my world, so frankly, the idea is still a bit baffling. ...May I ask you for an explanation too, if it's not too troubling? Aha... I just thought that if I ask more people, I might get more information and understand better, since everyone's perspective is likely different. Does that make sense?

[He's assuming she's already asked Ray, and that he probably talked her ear off for an hour about physics and engineering and everything else normal people don't understand.]

[Loki, currently female thanks to his latest regain, is startled by the sudden beam. He was standing a little past that tree--not quite in the line of fire, but close enough to make him nervous.]

[Pete jumps back himself, unaware there was even someone present. He re-holstered the wand to the rest of the pack and leaned to the side to peer around the tree.]

[He straightens his dress, a little irritated with himself for being caught so off-guard. He doesn't feel like himself, dressed like this. ...actually, now that he's not startled, he's finding himself curious about what kind of magic that had been. (He's a woman, or at least appears to be; he can be curious about magic without risking his perceived masculinity. Venkman will never know.)]

[He moves around the tree, getting a better look at her...er... him. He puts on his con man smile and moves closer.]

Good. Sorry about that. It's been a while, and these things tend to get testy.

[He motioned to the pack he was wearing.]
