I'm familiar with technology of this caliber, but I think I'd better go it alone! I don't want to get into a fight with anybody. And won't we cover more area if a few of us split up?

It would be, but if the Captain has anything with him, the worst thing anyone could do is be caught alone. Rule one of surviving an adventure movie. Maybe we could have everyone divide up into two or three groups?
