WHAT: It's ten years in the future and everyone's suddenly found themselves back in the corridors of Hogwarts.

[ her expression crumples into a huge smile, and while she's too far along to properly clamber through the portrait hole and fling her arms around Matthew, she certainly tries her best. ] Oh, Matthew!

[ (that's all you're going to get out of her for a moment or so) ]

What, no hug for me?

Oh, no of course...!

[ obligingly Katya throws one of her arms around Alfred too, pulling them both to her. ]

[ Matthew can't even form any words, he just lets out a startled laugh and throws his arms around his wife, stepping forward to help support her(and their child). He elbows Alfred in the side, but there's no real force or malice behind it.

That's when he starts rambling, in a jumble of French and Ukrainian, something about missing her and about how far along she is and how he has no idea where Reinetta may be, but they'll find her, he promises, and did she know how much he loves, loved, will always love them both? ]

[ Okay, Matt's a grown man, and he's going to lightly headbutt his brother now. In front of his wife and everything.

MATURITY. ]

I said -- I said I missed everyone.

[ (it's like she married an actual seventeen year old.) for Alfred's benefit she answers her husband in English, ]

We missed you too. I, I missed you.

[ she lets her hand rest along his cheek like testing the reality of him, and shyly says in Ukrainian that she loves him, too. ]

[ He leans against the cup of her palm and murmurs an automatic apology for the state of his unshaven face, but his eyes stay locked onto hers, almost entranced (it's been so very long). Matthew has a bad habit of staring, losing himself in whatever has caught in attention --

so without much regard to his brother's presence, he bends down to kiss her.

Fleetingly, first. That's your warning shot, bro. ]

[Awkwardly... stands. It's not like he's gonna leave, dude, he hasn't seen his sister-in-law in ages and he doesn't have anyplace else to be.

... They'll stop soon, right?]

[floweringsister]

[ leaning as far up as she can without putting more weight on her tired feet, Katya throws herself into the affection, returning Matthew's kiss with all the love she hasn't been able to fit in the notes she sends him.

[ He remains hyper-aware of the baby in her belly, but he all but gathers her in his arms, gives as good as he gets. It's more than half a year of yearning channeled into one spark, one moment contained in the tiny space between them, and Matt's restraining himself here.
