*hugs* Your family is in my thoughts. The hurricane is a scary thing. I'm from tornado country. Those I'm used to dealing with. Hurricane's though scare the crap out of me. I'm pretty fair away from it and it has affected me in nearly no way (worried about my cousin who is on his way to PA as we speak with the national guard and some family along the east coast in various states). I really do hope things turn out alright for your fiancee and family. And that they (and everyone else) stay safe.
I was thinking about you and your folks today... here's hoping they make it through.
I've got east coast folks in three areas: Jacksonville, FL, which seems to caught the outer edge. I haven't heard anything from folks there, but didn't expect to. My family there has the habit of being dismissive of hurricanes, because Jax rarely gets hit - I hope it never catches up to them.
It's the folks in Raleigh (NC) that have me worried... they were getting hammered, lost power about 12 hours ago and nothing since.
I have one friend in Connecticut, and she just posted they're really starting to feel it about an hour ago...
