It's dark. The window is open to the heat and the lightest of breezes is blowing through, making her thin curtains flutter in the glow of the streetlight outside.
It's the first time he's seen her apartment. He wants to turn on the lights, look around, find everything he doesn't know about her--it's a lot. More than he realized, before he thought about it.
He's not drunk but he's buzzed and he recognizes it in her smile too, through the shadows across the room. He steps toward her, into the unknown, as the clock on her nightstand flips to 12:00.
