[It was late last night when Ion was taken from the village, and it had been done so quietly it might have been impossible to know he was gone if his bedding hadn't been thrown around the room.]
[But he wasn't gone for very long, as it's less than a day later that Ion returns to the village sometime in the early evening. At a glance, he might just

Io--Fon Master?!
[Dist bites his lip, furious that his first reaction was that of deep concern for the boy, and approaches with a hastened pace. When had he been taken? Did the others know? Was he all right? He looked disoriented. Dist stops in front of Ion and looks him over. He looked unharmed...]

[But when he sees Nephry, his expression turns to one of curiousity.]

Oh, yes...physically, perhaps. [He'd have to run a few tests to make sure of that. Heaven knows that the Malnosso could and would do more than alter Ion's "age". If he was unstable as well...] He's been altered, Nephry. I have reason to believe he was de-aged to moments after his creation.

I can't be certain, as I wasn't involved in the replication of the original Ion, but he seems capable of basic speech and, though somewhat limited, he is capable of understanding certain commands. The intellect and knowledge is there, presumably by a delicately placed programming, but untapped. It'll take some time to teach him, but he's not completely incompetent. He will need care, however, which I know you can provide, Nephry.

The question makes Dist glance quickly back at Ion and his lips curl into a bit of a smirk.]
It seems he hasn't shed one of his more characteristic traits. He's overly trusting.

[but there are more important things at hand than this half-veiled argument about whether or not Dist is staying. Nephry sighs and walks over to Ion again]
Are you hungry?
