I'm feeling much better, those of you who I may have worried recently. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your concern and your support. I believe that with time, I will come to accept things. The pain has not died down entirely, but I know now that it was not a pain that I should carry like some kind of punishment. Someone from your memories?

A woman I knew before I came here. She lived secluded in her house, unable to travel because of her immobile right leg. I remember her smoking a long pipe. She would smoke it whenever she listened to stories from traveling Mushishi that came by, like myself.

She used the stories, which had to be about mushi killings to be potent, to seal a "forbidden" mushi that afflicted her leg, a curse that was passed down from generation to generation in her family. Little by little, the mushi leaves her body, but the job is one that...may take her entire life to complete. Until then, she listens to stories, and dreams of mushi and humans living in harmony.

Much the same, but thank you for asking. I have continued maintaining my health with blood. There are a few things I am still curious about, however... I am a bit reluctant to try them.

Huh? Oh, sorry. I'm so used to them it didn't occur to me that you might not know how to use one.

The lighter contains compressed oxygen, and there's a little piece of flint at the top. Just slide your thumb down the back part of the flint and onto the button, and hold that down. It'll make a small flame used for lighting cigarettes.
