Good shows barely ever happen in Lansing. I saw Slim Cessna a few months back. That's been it for most of the year.

A few weeks back I drove 3.5 hours into Guelph, ON to see a band from Alberta that I adore play a huge basement room at The University Of Guelph. It was the nicest and most enthusiastic crowd I've seen in quite some time. College age Canadians have some good energy, especially give that the band I was there to see was the opener.
