Hijikata was up on the deck of the Victoria II that night, taking a well needed smoke after all the events that had transpired today. The mission had been a success - minus the fact that the ship had been almost utterly trashed when he returned, his shoulder was wounded, things had gone generally downhill as always and that blasted guard had went off to who knows where after everything. All in all, yet another one of those annoying events that just made Hijikata want to headdesk/facewall repeatedly and strangle something to death in order to appease his anger.
Of course, it would be a thousand million billion trillion years before that would happen anytime soon. So the only way the boatswain could vent his frustrations on was by chain smoking like a chimney. Which was what he did, linefacing and glaring at the world in general as he puffed on his cigarette. And then another. And another. And another as the time passed by.
Goddamnit, he hated his life right about now.
