I think what'll happen is that there'll be a really compelling reason for Rose to go back to Pete's World, something even beyond her family. Still, she won't be *torn* from the Doctor's side this time; it will be her choice to do the right thing. What I want is a kiss, an admission of love (even a tacit one will do--I'm easy that way), and a parting with no bitterness and a "Never say never-ever" possibility of meeting again. The first two are optional. The third is what I'm really gunning for.

I agree with all of this! I will be much happier if Rose has good reason to choose to go back than if she and the Doctor are forcefully separated "forever" again.

I think the second to the last paragraph sums it all up.
I really hope RTD will do some good with it. And I completely agree with your thoughts.
But I somehow still can't deny to love a Bad Wolf theory. I mean, it just HAS to do something with it. Maybe Rose is using that power (somehow) to get to the Doctor?
Just thinking, but I like the idea.

Firstly- Aww your icon <3

I really have no idea how Rose is getting back, but I would love to see Bad Wolf involved. I'm so not ready to see them say goodbye again though, as much as I totally agree with what you're saying.

I agree with pretty much everything you said, especially the end. And you know what? I'm fine with them not being able to see each other again as long as it's on loving terms. Not "Aaahh, well, you know doctor, I kinda got over you soo..saved the earth for you and now i need to get back to my boyfriend! kthnxbi!" ~_~ no. I will NOT be happy if it ends like that.
I still stand by the ending that I've made to make myself feel better.

Because, let's face it, it's what we all want to happen!

Oh please! The Doctor & Rose's love story is about forever! It's like a fairytale! The Oncoming storm & the Bad wolf, the Doctor & his Rose... Look at how desesperate he was in series 3 without his Rose. If she goes back to the Alt!world, because both her and the Doctor have moved on, just imagine poor Martha's reaction! She'd have been in Rose's shadow for a whole year because of a what? Summer fling?
"We were great, that's true, stuff of legends and all that, but anyway, I belong with Mickey/Alt!Jack/my very own Tom Milligan and you, all alone, last of the Time Lors, with your Tardis?"
That's not MY Rose... totally out of the character. You can be strong and mature and all grown-up and be in love.
I think that ending would be one of the worst.

So the your Rose is selfish, uncaring brat? That's certainly not my Rose.

If you actually read my post I never said she'd choose to return to Pete's World becaue of some romance. I said she'd choose to stay with her family because to do otherwise would be would put the Alt!Earth in danger, or something equally dangerous.

'Summer fling? You're kidding right? I made it very clear in my post that I thought the Doctor and Rose were special. What they had was real. But sometimes there are things, very important things, that keep even the truest love stories from going off into 'happily ever after' land.

You can be strong and mature and all grown-up and be in love. Finally something I can agree with. I truly believe that when Rose said she was going to stay with the Doctor forever, she meant it. But people grow up. Sometimes what you want and what's right are too completely different things. And choosing to put someone else's needs above your own is one of the hardest lessons a person has to learn as the grow up. Does that ( ... )

Oh come on, have I ever said the Doctor & Rose had a fling? Never! I just meant that this sort of ending would make their story feel like it was not that special.
But god knows if they were. They ARE the stuff of legends! And that's why I DO believe they deserves something better than "This was fantastic, but it's just better if we say goodbye".
