I think what'll happen is that there'll be a really compelling reason for Rose to go back to Pete's World, something even beyond her family. Still, she won't be *torn* from the Doctor's side this time; it will be her choice to do the right thing. What I want is a kiss, an admission of love (even a tacit one will do--I'm easy that way), and a parting with no bitterness and a "Never say never-ever" possibility of meeting again. The first two are optional. The third is what I'm really gunning for.
I agree with all of this! I will be much happier if Rose has good reason to choose to go back than if she and the Doctor are forcefully separated "forever" again.
I don't think I was completely clear... I didn't mean to imply she would stay because of her family, but she would choose to stay with her family because the Alt!Earth needed her in some way.
I don't believe she will be torn from his side this time either. At least she bloody well better not be. I can accept a sad ending, or rather a bittersweet ending. But a devastating ending? I swear if Russel does that to us again, he better go into hiding...for a long, long time. :)
Mmf. I really hope that if there is something that makes Rose want to stay back in her world it's a parallel Doctor. Hopefully Nine, maybe. And we see them both dashing off to save alternate!Earth in the end of the last ep.
Gimme Rose kicking ass, taking names and making some decisions of her own, along with some acknowledgment of the shippy on the side, and I'm golden. :D
