[Yuuko was never exactly on time to functions like this (though she was very good at showing up at the exact right moment when it counted). She arrived about half an hour after the party started, along with Clow, wearing this dress.]

[She was smiling, like she usually was, but somewhat sober (in mood... and in mind, for the moment, but there would be liberal application of alcohol later). It had been a rough week for everyone; the curse yesterday would have been more than enough to cause problems. Yuuko was almost surprised Uta hadn't canceled the party altogether.]

[For now, she mingled, smiling, laughing, chatting, teasing, like usual.]

[She was almost surprised herself... She was drained emotionally, and she was just in the hospital yesterday worrying about Anthony. However, she also knew this was a very important for Cain, as it would remind him of home.]

[She approached Yuuko and Clow, greeting them with a smile.]

For a moment, I was worried you guys couldn't make it.

[Yuuko smiled.] We're here. [She offered no explanation for their lateness, likely because it was her fault. It took some time to look this good, okay.]

[She leaned down to Uta's level.] How are you?

[She looked down, hiding her head under that hood... which was probably because it showed in her eyes that hasn't slept much the night before.]

Tired... The hospital is a scary place.

[She simply couldn't lie to Yuuko. Probably because she knows Yuuko could tell.]

[Aya hadn't wanted to come. He had made that clear to Uta from the very beginning. Yet here he was in the suit that had been picked out for him.]

[Ken was back now but things were awkward when it came to that. There was little he could do and in all honesty, he needed to get away from it. Being stuck in the middle was tiring.]

[He went up to Uta and stood behind her for a moment while she sang and played.]

[She hadn't expected an audience, but then Aya was really good in sneaking up on people...]

[At least it was Aya. She didn't mind having him hear her. She looked up at him and smiled.]

[He nodded and went to sit with her at the piano. He couldn't play it but that didn't mean he couldn't join her.]

[She giggled at him, tugging at his collar to smooth it out.]

[Abby was there and ready. Mingling with everyone and just generally having a good time. She should be. She was the second hostess for this party.]

[She turned and had fun watching the way the skirt of her dress moved. This costume thing was such a great idea.]

Omi stayed in the back until Uta was done singing. He didn't want to interrupt her, and Aya had gotten there first. Besides, he wasn't sure he could face Uta or Umi after Ken's return. Ken... hadn't been quiet about hating him, and he couldn't even explain why. Not entirely.

[After her conversation with Aya, she got up to check on the food and drinks. On her way to the kitchen though, she spots the young blond... was he hiding?]

[She quietly approaches him, she could tell there was something... not quite right.]

...Omi? What's the matter?

[Not hiding! Well... hiding only a little? He rummaged up a smile for the girl.]

Oh, hi, Uta! Nothing... I just didn't want to interrupt.

...oh my gosh, how long have you been standing there anyway?!

[Penny wasn't in a partying kind of mood, what with recently dying and running around trying to organize things, but Uta's a sweet girl and deserves to have a party full of friends. Her dress looks more like an altered prom dress than anything expensive and authentic, but she feels like she fits in well enough.

She listens to Uta sing, rather impressed with the girl's talent.]

[She ran up to Penny in her usualy, cheerful manner. Despite feeling a little down, she felt much happier seeing everyone enjoying themselves at the party.]
