I received an answering letter from my family. Apparently they're having the same problems in Aquroya as we are having here.

God save us. Everything's going wrong. I feel like we're in a war, except that we're fighting each other. And the universe.

...First Lieutenant Hawkeye spoke to me. Or, her ghost did. *swallows, clenching her jaw* And then her killer told me herself. *inhales deeply, then lets the air out* The First Lieutenant's murderer is a young woman named Vorpal. She told me that she killed the First Lieutenant and several children. She appears to be 20, she told me she's actually two. She says she's dead... in any case, she certainly doesn't breathe or eat. She has implied that she can't be killed, I don't know if this is true... regardless, she seemed threatened when a gun was pointed at her head. *expressionless* First Lieutenant Hawkeye indicated that more than one person is involved, and she said that one is a shapeshifter... my guess would be one of the homunculi known as Envy.

*listens calmly* Thank you, Clara. That - that's really helpful. At least we've identified the killers now. I think I may have met Vorpal - A young woman came and admitted to me that she was Lieutenant Hawkeye's killer, but I didn't know whether to believe it or not. Anyway, at least I have a name to go with her face. *considers asking about the incident with the gun; decides against it* Do you have any idea where Vorpal might be now ...?

*stone-faced* That sounds like her. She seems to have no compunctions whatsoever about admitting it. *sighs heavily and shakes her head no* No clue whatsoever. The last I saw of her she was walking out my front door and off my property three days ago. Frankly, I hope I never see her again. *sighs again* But if I see or hear anything, I'll be sure to report it immediately.
