Somebody thought this up, somebody decided to run it, some people went through with it, and some people apparently watched it closely enough to be inspired to make response. I think that may be the funniest part of this.

Before you come down too heavily on this, read this article. The basic concept makes a lot of sense. On this principle Mr. Rogers is, whether Fox News says it or not, probably a good example of how NOT to praise your children. I don't think he bears ALL the blame, but clearly had was popular enough to have some influence.
