I return to the internet after some four months in exile. My machine has been replaced completely with an equivalent model after much debate and a fair amount of yelling on my part. But in the end it did not cost me a dime, so that is something.

Serious computer problems have kept me offline for about two months off and on now. I am not dead, I promise. I am irritated though. Two trips back to the manufacturer and the machine still crashes randomly without even the decency of a blue screen of death ( Read more... )

So the new job goes well, and I continue at the old one on the weekends. Not too much free time but the extra money comes in handy as it allows me to pay off Gen Con debts that much faster and begin to save for Step 4 ( Read more... )

Not a wealth of rpg stories this year due to a decreased presence of myself. Still, a good time. And my being there for less time means I am significantly more financially secure than I normally am after a Gen Con.

Still, there were some good times and it is always nice to do something with your chummers.

My initial financial calculations were indeed correct, and as such I will journey toward Indianapolis tomorrow after work. It occurs to me that I will actually only be at Gen Con for one day when you get right down to it, since nothing really happens on Sunday except shopping. But what the hell, eh ( Read more... )

Step 2 has finally come to fruition, some months after Step 3 was nailed down. Training on my new job begins tomorrow at 8 AM. While record clerk at a doctor's office is not exactly glamour work, the superior pay and constant hours will allow me to more aggressively pursue Step 4, and as mentioned previously that is the most important of this ( Read more... )
