As for the recent parasitic infestation, I think it's reasonable to assume that the strange phenomena this month--the star shower, the horrible stench in the center of the City, the rampant illness--are all related to it.  It's ( Read more... )

I know for a fact that the smoke had a poisonous component to it. It acted as an insecticide. But whether that was its real purpose, I don't know yet.

I thought the traces of pyrethrins that I found on my robe were related. I don't think the insecticide was terribly effective, however; there was a tick crawling about my room this morning.

I know it killed the spider outside my window, and it seems to have brought down most of the fleas in the opera house. But apparently it wasn't quite effective enough.

Or ticks are unusually vile and resilient.

Do you think the deities are to blame for the initial infestation?

Haven't you heard? You're not supposed to face these situations sensibly. You're supposed to panic.

Oh, my mistake. I'll do what I can to propagate widespread panic in the future!

They're sure to be unneeded. Panic seems to come about quite naturally here.

A warning then. So cautious.

I don't want to hear a thing from you. You're far more trouble than you're worth.

Mm~ I am not angered with you currently. You suggested I be released.

Rather foolishly. Not that I don't think it was the right decision, but the majority of the City seems to disagree.

You'll listen to Solomon, though. Won't you?

... Stay away from Marishka-san? Why?

somekindofsin June 20 2009, 02:12:43 UTC
Because she's a monster with a bloody past, no desire to reform, and no sense of morality. She delights in torture and playing with her intended prey. There's every chance that she would kill you, if given the opportunity.

Would you like more reasons? I can provide them.
