It's utterly impossible to keep track of time in this City.
The creatures that visited were rather interesting, though! The hair beast was a very cooperative experimental subject, although I don't fully understand why it and its counterpart were so determined to return our hair. "A great due was returned"? Utterly baffling

Ah. If you're interested in testing innovative weaponry, I do need someone who has experience wielding weapons to take certain inventions of mine out for field trials.

The only thing I've been able to figure out about the hair is a message that appeared later on the Network from one of the 'deities'. That one suggested that the 'deities' had taken our hair--the tribute in January, I mean--needlessly. So the dog came to return it. He kept saying things about 'due is due' and 'duly returned'.
As for his mother, she just seemed bent on retrieving the dog.
[ooc: May I just say, "Hello hunters. Congratulations. You've just discovered the secret message. Please send your answer to old Pink, care of the Funny Farm, Chalfont." >:3 I won't say how much of all Carl's speculations are right, but he's very clever. I'll say this much outright: you got the "sign off" languages and double meanings right. Well done indeed~]

Why would the creature appear to right this wrong, though? Personally, I wasn't all that attached to the hair I lost to the tribute, and I certainly didn't need it back. I suppose what truly matters is that both creatures appeared to be benevolent in spite of the... problematic effects their presences had on the City.
Yes, and the dog was apparently her son. Supernatural families are peculiar.
[ooc: Whoo! Thank you, and I'm eagerly awaiting further developments!]

I suppose it doesn't matter to him if we were attached to it or wanted it back. It was taken needlessly, apparently, and therefore the 'wrong' had to be 'righted'. He was apparently the one who was in charge of collecting sacrifices two years ago, when the City fairly went through hell to keep everyone's worlds spinning.
Indeed they are.

Oh? That makes sense, all things considering. Most gods of myth and legend were neutral rather than good or evil--indifferent, as it were, like any force of nature. If these creatures are higher powers than the deities, they may be acting solely to keep this world--and perhaps all other worlds--in order.

If this were the case, and if she is the mother of the dead that walk in the City... I guess that's why life doesn't have much meaning to her? She did destroy an entire building...

I suppose so, but I don't believe she purposely harmed anyone. No matter, though! They're gone for the moment, and we don't need to worry about buildings toppling or hair attacking at the moment.

Thank you, I think. We haven't met, have we? If we have, my apologies for my forgetfulness. I'm Carl.
