I'm so very, very late to the bandwagon on this one.

1. Wow, so: Torchwood. I'd heard that it was awesome, and that there was some lovely canon slash, and yet I resisted because-- I don't know. I've never watched Doctor Who in my life and I had no idea who the hell Jack Harkness was, but. Clearly that doesn't matter, because I've been mainlining all the Torchwood I can find on YouTube for the ( Read more... )

I adore Torchwood, and Ianto is definitely great. His sarcasm is delightful.

I think that Capt. Jack is ridiculously pretty, so I enjoy him. And no, he's not like Tom Cruise to me at all, because John Barrowman is a very genuine person - and not at all insane. (grin)

See, that's the thing! I've seen all these interviews with him, and I think he's delightful. And I think Jack Harkness is ridiculously attractive, and then-- the camera will catch him from a certain angle when he grins and I get all weirded out. It's very distracting.

Just keep saying, "Not insane, not a scientologist, not insane..." (grin)

I think, "Insane in an endearing way, not a scientologist, insane in an endearing way..." is more accurate. *g*

::makes note::

I rather love cheesey scifi, so I'll certainly have to look into the Baker episodes. They seem to be the gold standard for the show, anyway, so I might as well start there. :)

Don't watch Torchwood (or Doctor Who, although I have a ridiculous number of pictures of the phone booth thingy at the eisteddfod), but I can understand being creeped out by any resemblance to Tom Cruise. I try to avoid thinking about actor's personal lives while watching shows, but even with that the guy bothers me in a "please dear sweet merciful heavens shut up now!" kinda way. Totally ruins the suspension of disbelief thing.

And I just may take you up on it, if you don't mind. This is rather a new thing for me-- I desperately want to write in this fandom, but the dialect just intimidates me all to hell.

(Also: have just discovered your TW stories. Am even more convinced that you are made of Awesome.)

If you want horrifically OOC fic, wherein they are completely domestic and cry a lot? I do know where that is. *shudder*

::laughs::

Dude, thanks for the offer of help, but I've found quite a bit of that sort of thing on my own. It's-- somewhat terrifying, actually. The sheer number of suicidal!Ianto fics is amazing.
