I doubt you'd seen it before - I think I only posted it to an icontest comm that is now deleted... and I also kind of doubt my powers of precognition were up to par when I was making that icon, LOL. :D:D

Thinking about your story more, it's so true to life that someone's real weakness or real struggle would be with something emotional over the physical things... no wonder Rodney wouldn't want to share something like that. I'm glad he can hang out in the labs and can hear his next-door neighbours but I feel like he should have a cat (Pegasus almost-cat?) to keep him company in his room... he'd feel a lot better I think. *hugs him*

Oh. Oh, wow. This is not a take I've seen on Rodney before but I really, really like it. A lot. Wow. I'd dearly love to see a full on story written around this idea. Excellent character snapshot.

Thanks dear :) It's kind of how I've always seen Rodney in my head - so pushy and so always there because he's afraid that if he doesn't make his presence known, everyone will forget about him. Glad you liked it.

Oh dang... I've got to say that I never pictured this phobia for Rodney before; but this... You just make it work, m'dear! You caught me from paragraph one with the "He’s the one who fills silence with chatter" line. Just thinking, while reading the rest, that Rodney is so lonely for the sound of humanity that he needs to hear his own voice made me tear up, literally. I was cuddling my own pillow by the time I got to him sneaking into John's room just to hear breathing...
