[All he'd done was find a card. He'd had no idea what it was, but the only other card he'd used had played a dream he hadn't dreamed and let him relive a memory. A slot had opened on his Dreamberry as soon as he'd picked it

[ Hm. Welp, it wasn't everyday you go wandering around to spot a little boy that looks exactly like someone you know.

Hold on. Brunette, spiky hair... and wears red. Did Lloyd somehow shrink-!?

So curiously Colette will inch a little closer, eyes wide. ] ... Lloyd, is that you?

[Lloyd is never going to cease being amazed when people know his name! He stares up at Colette, mouth dropping open in awe.]

Yeah! How'd you know?

[ Wait, so his name WAS Lloyd but-- ... he didn't remember her?

Her shoulders tense a little in surprise. Could there really be a younger version of him running around? Oh dear. ]

Uh well, you look just like my best friend! But-- [ A pause, lifting her hand over his head. ] -- he's much taller than you!

That's how tall I'm gonna be. Dad says I'm getting big!

[He doesn't really get why looking like this girl's friend helped her figure out his name, but he's moved past that now and accepted it. But speaking of looking like friends...]

You look like Colette!

I'm sure your dad is a very smart man. He's probably right!

[ Hey, if he looks like Lloyd he might as well be the same size as him!

... But things just got a little more confusing. ] Ah! That is my name. My name is Colette!

Yeah, Dad knows everything. He knows how to make stuff and he knows how to spell and he can read and he's teaching me all the Dwarven Vows!

[This is all very impressive for someone who's only six.]

Really? [Colette's earned herself a curious look.] Are you Colette's big sis?

Wow, that is smart if he knows everything! [ Wait, Dwarven vows...

This HAS to be Lloyd! ]

Colette doesn't have an older sister-- I am Colette! Oh no! Lloyd, what happened to you? How did you get so small?

What? But Colette's not as big as you. She's my size.

[You're confusing him, Colette. Can you see it in how he's staring helplessly at you?]

I'm not getting small. I'm getting big! Dad says so, too, and dad doesn't ever tell lies, 'cause, um... [Hang on, he's trying to remember.] Dwarven vow number, um... seven? Lying makes you a thief!

I think somehow you got smaller. You're actually my size!

[ Aww, don't give her that look. She is just as confused as you are.

... Okay, that was kinda cute. Colette can't help but giggle. ] Hehe, actually... I think that's number eleven! But I think seven is your favorite-- goodness and love will always win!

[Confusion - doubled. Lloyd stares a little more, then walks up to Colette, scooting up close to put his head next to her stomach. With one hand on his head, he measures his height on her.

Still confused.]

I'm as tall as you?

[Oh, hey! She knows the Dwarven vows, too!]

Yeah! Yeah, that one's number seven!

[ Colette watches with a curious eye as he measure himself on her. A-- aw, was he really this cute when he was little? ]

Even taller! You're going to grow up to be really big!

[ And she stretches her arms waaay up into the air! ]

Mhmm! And you're doing really well to try to learn all of them.

[Going to grow up that big. Okay, that makes much more sense. Because he's definitely not that big right now.]

I'm gonna be big an' I'll have swords so I can protect dad and Noishe and all my friends. I'll be a hero, just like all the stories!

[Oh Colette, you are so good for a little boy's ego. Lloyd grins at the praise.]

Dad makes me memberize them every time we eat. Someday I'm gonna know them all.

[ She really likes inflating those egos. Sorry. ]

You're off to a good start. You just have to keep pushing yourself!

Yeah! [Every word of this makes Lloyd even more enthusiastic. One hundred percent agreement and excitement!] Dwarven vow number sixty! You can do anything if you try, an' I'm gonna try my best!

[He reaches up to try to catch Colette's hand.] You're really nice. I like you, Colette!

That's the spirit! [ The giggling. Colette can't stop giggling. ] You can do it!

[ Her gaze drifts down to her hand before moving it to clasp it around his tiny one. He was always so sweet to her, even now... ] Hehe, thank you! I-- [ A pause. ] --I really like you, too.

[He's just going to enjoy holding her hand for a minute. Something about her just feels good, like she's one of his closest friends.]
