Syaoran really wasn't expecting to see someone he knew today. (Though, that didn't mean that he was ruling out the possibility completely. It's a small world, after all...) But when he was walking down the street, he was surprised when he noticed a very familiar person that was sitting in front of an apartment complex.
While it's been such a long while they personally met, Syaoran's sharp memory could immediately tell who this person is, even from faint distance. With a smile to himself, he stepped closer to stand near the steps as he directed that smile down towards Beat this time.
Too engrossed in his own musings, Beat hadn't heard Syaoran's approach at first. He had been busy with a stubborn bolt refusing to stay in place as he used the wrench to screw it back in. He could have sworn that he had gotten the right size the last time he checked so it seemed beyond him as to why the damn part wouldn't fit where it should. Turning to his side, he began searching through the rest of his things for a similarly sized bolt.
As soon as he found the item in question, he turned back to his skateboard even more determined to fix the loose truck on the upper length of the board. It was then that he heard someone call his attention and he snapped his neck upward towards the source. A grin spread onto his face as soon as he saw just who it was.
"Yo, Syaoran. Whatchu doin' 'round here?" It had been some time since he had seen his friend and he was more than happy about it.
Syaoran's smile grew a bit calmer, but one can just tell how happy he is as well. To think that so many months passed since he "left" Somarium and back... And throughout these weeks of re-adjustment, everything seemed to be doing well. Syaoran's already used to constant change of living conditions, so this really wasn't a problem at all.
But what really matters is that he's been given the chance to be around his friends in Somarium again. But because Fay is in a sleep coma, he's been a bit busy in handling the daily tasks in the onsen since their work load split has been bigger. It's nice to have a break every now and then, which is what he's doing right now.
"... I was just taking a walk," he replied before glancing down at what Beat was holding.
... A skateboard. Why is that so much like Beat? Syaoran can't help a faint laugh.
Beat chuckled a little at his friend's answer. He knew that Syaoran usually stayed over at the onsen in Espoir, which was some ways off from his own place. Not too far that it would be cumbersome but still quite a distance than what most people liked to travel. Unless the other boy had decided to take some mode of transportation prior to walking around but Beat had no knowledge of where he had come from to begin with.
Nevertheless, he still couldn't help but ask. "Kinda far from the onsen, doncha think?"
He looked back down at the skateboard on his lap. He had been meaning to work on it a few days or even a whole week later but with everything on his mind right now due to seeing those visions from the card, he figured that it was probably best to get it over with. And to distract himself, even for just a while.
"Yeah, almost time I'mma start usin' it again. Ain't gonna get on if the thing ain't fixed to carry me, you know?" He scratched the back of his head sheepishly. "I do that an' I'mma be wipin' out a lot more, yo."
[Shiki was on her way to the dog park. She tightened the grip she had on Ito and Alex's leashes, trying her hardest to cajole them into slowing down but to no avail.]
Guyyyysss! Slow downnnnn!
[Turning around a corner that led to Enveria Apartments, Shiki spots a Beat tinkering with his skateboard. She was about to make a beeline for her when Ito the Shiba did it for her.]
[Ito practically drags both Shiki and Alex towards the boy. The bigger dog's leash slip from his master's fingers, enabling him to pounce on Beat and tackle the boy to the ground; licking his face quite happily while his tail wagged from side to side.]
[Even if Beat had buried himself in his work, the panting had been dead giveaway on what was heading towards him. Especially because it was the sound was louder and louder as it grew closer towards him.]
[He had just looked up in time to see the Shiba jump off the ground as it lunged itself toward him. Dropping his board and wrench, he braces for the impact that was to come.
Before he knew it, Ito had himself on the boy, slobbering all over his face as he leans one hand against the step just above the one he sat on to steady himself.]
[He doesn't recognize the voice, and he was almost done tightening this screw so he doesn't look up to face whoever it was who called his attention just yet.]
