Syaoran really wasn't expecting to see someone he knew today. (Though, that didn't mean that he was ruling out the possibility completely. It's a small world, after all...) But when he was walking down the street, he was surprised when he noticed a very familiar person that was sitting in front of an apartment complex.

While it's been such a long while they personally met, Syaoran's sharp memory could immediately tell who this person is, even from faint distance. With a smile to himself, he stepped closer to stand near the steps as he directed that smile down towards Beat this time.

"... Good day."

Too engrossed in his own musings, Beat hadn't heard Syaoran's approach at first. He had been busy with a stubborn bolt refusing to stay in place as he used the wrench to screw it back in. He could have sworn that he had gotten the right size the last time he checked so it seemed beyond him as to why the damn part wouldn't fit where it should. Turning to his side, he began searching through the rest of his things for a similarly sized bolt.

As soon as he found the item in question, he turned back to his skateboard even more determined to fix the loose truck on the upper length of the board. It was then that he heard someone call his attention and he snapped his neck upward towards the source. A grin spread onto his face as soon as he saw just who it was.

"Yo, Syaoran. Whatchu doin' 'round here?" It had been some time since he had seen his friend and he was more than happy about it.

Syaoran's smile grew a bit calmer, but one can just tell how happy he is as well. To think that so many months passed since he "left" Somarium and back... And throughout these weeks of re-adjustment, everything seemed to be doing well. Syaoran's already used to constant change of living conditions, so this really wasn't a problem at all.

But what really matters is that he's been given the chance to be around his friends in Somarium again. But because Fay is in a sleep coma, he's been a bit busy in handling the daily tasks in the onsen since their work load split has been bigger. It's nice to have a break every now and then, which is what he's doing right now.

"... I was just taking a walk," he replied before glancing down at what Beat was holding.

... A skateboard. Why is that so much like Beat? Syaoran can't help a faint laugh.

"I see that you're tuning it."

Beat chuckled a little at his friend's answer. He knew that Syaoran usually stayed over at the onsen in Espoir, which was some ways off from his own place. Not too far that it would be cumbersome but still quite a distance than what most people liked to travel. Unless the other boy had decided to take some mode of transportation prior to walking around but Beat had no knowledge of where he had come from to begin with.

Nevertheless, he still couldn't help but ask. "Kinda far from the onsen, doncha think?"

He looked back down at the skateboard on his lap. He had been meaning to work on it a few days or even a whole week later but with everything on his mind right now due to seeing those visions from the card, he figured that it was probably best to get it over with. And to distract himself, even for just a while.

"Yeah, almost time I'mma start usin' it again. Ain't gonna get on if the thing ain't fixed to carry me, you know?" He scratched the back of his head sheepishly. "I do that an' I'mma be wipin' out a lot more, yo."

"I thought that it's about time that I wandered off further than the village itself," Syaoran replied with an enthusiastic tone. He rarely gets this much relaxation, so he might as well take advantage while things are still peaceful and slow.

He nodded after hearing Beat's explanation for the tuning. He doesn't notice just yet that Beat was looking rather... contemplative than usual.

Still a bit curious, Syaoran decided to glance upwards at the building behind Beat. It was obviously an apartment, but he's never been in there before.

"Do you live here, Beat?"

Beat chuckled a little. He had always wandered back and forth between the village and the city and despite the time he's been in the dream world, there were still times when he stumbled over places he had never seen or been to before. So in some way, he understood how Syaoran felt about exploring the place a bit more.

He put the wrench but his side before he jabbed a thumb behind him, in the general direction of the building's entrance. "Back here? Yeah. Up on the fourth floor with Flips."

That easily made Syaoran smile down at him. It's always so much better to live with someone you care about and trust. It's nice...

Syaoran nodded once, then leaned a little against the edge of one handrail as he looked out the city. There's still much to explore, now that he thought of it. Even though he's been here for a good while, there's buildings and areas that he hasn't wandered in before.

"Somarium really is big," he idly said.

Beat followed Syaoran's gaze towards the surrounding buildings and the park not too far off from where the two were. He had been through most the city and parts of the village in the time that he's been in the dream world. Even it wasn't anything like he was used to back in Shibuya, he's learned to like the place enough it wasn't playing cruel tricks on its inhabitants. "Sure is, man."

Considering what Syaoran had said, it caused Beat to wonder exactly what other places his friend had been to so far. The city was much larger in comparison to the village which only meant there was a lot more that had yet to be seen. If there's anything Beat hadn't really explored yet, it was the dessert past the barrier and up the mountain but he already doubted Syaoran's ever been out that far.

"Where ya been so far, yo?" The question left his mouth without much second thought.

"Mostly, I've only been in some shops here in Somni, because I go here whenever I have errands from the onsen..." Syaoran explained with a faint smile. At the same time, he's peering at the side with a calm air about him.

"Sometimes, I would roam around the parks... And I visited the libraries here as well. But that's pretty much it."

Syaoran recalled the first time he arrived in Somarium. One of the first areas he visted were the libraries, hoping that he'd be able to research about this place and get to know it.

The mention of the park makes Beat chuckle a little, reminding of the time Syaoran first borrowed his skateboard. The both of them were lucky that they walked without injuries from that fiasco. "Jus' 'round the city then, huh?"

He couldn't restrain himself from groaning at the mention of the library. Although it wasn't a place he would usually frequent, he remembered that he had a paper due that needed him to look up for a book or two to help him finish the required amount of pages.

"Thanks for the heads up, man. Gotta check the place out for somethin' I gotta do for class tomorrow." Part of him couldn't help but sound sarcastic as the words left his mouth.

"Yes... I don't really go out that much," Syaoran said to add to Beat's first statement. Maybe Syaoran should start looking around more, to the point he'll enter different shops and cafes. It's nice to be more aware of what's around him, anyway. It feels odd to settle down in one place when originally he's going around different worlds!

But that trail of thought was distracted when Beat thanked him for a heads up. That had Syaoran for a second, so he glanced back at Beat with a faintly stumped look.

"... What do you mean?"

Though, after a second of thinking over what he said, it most likely be the library since it's the closest idea to reminding someone of their studies.

"Oh, I see! So, you attend school here? I didn't know."

The boy raised a hand up, sheepishly scratching the back of his head. He hadn't liked the idea of going back to school at first, especially with his history, but it at least gave him something else to do during the rest of the day. "Yeah. Figured it was better than jus' lyin' 'round and doin' nothin' all day, you know?"

There wasn't much he really had to look up, but just the thought of having to look through block after block of text just didn't sit too well with the boy. Part of him wished that Somarium had some sort of Internet hook-up to make things a lot more easier for him.

Nevertheless, another groan escaped him. His frown deepened a little at that thought, but this was Syaoran he was talking to. He didn't mind mentioning it out loud if it was someone he was rather close to. "Kinda wish Rhyme was 'round, man. This sorta thing's what she's good at."

That was a very good point, so Syaoran smiled and nodded to it, understanding. Though, the idea of going to school kind of pinged him... Maybe he should consider, too. Kurogane and Fay wouldn't mind, he's certain. But he's a little worried if he was less around the onsen, would they have handling problems?

Again though, Syaoran's thoughts was distracted by the unpleasant sound of Beat's groan. He made a small, sad glance at Beat after hearing him speak of his sister like this. He definitely misses her... And Syaoran understood. He decided to sit next to Beat, then smiled out and placed a hand on his friend's shoulder gently.

"Sort of thing? You mean researching? I'm actually good at it, myself. If you ever need help, I'll be more than glad to accompany you to the library."

Beat couldn't help but smile upon hearing those words. He appreciated the help Syaoran was offering, considering that he wasn't exactly fishing for help when he had announced it. If anything, it had just been him thinking aloud.

"You seriously aight with that? Could sure use the help, man." If there was one thing he could swallow his pride and ask help for, it had to be homework. Otherwise, he'd find his own means and ways to get through whatever problem he was faced with.

The smile on his face didn't last though, as the thought of schoolwork continued to cloud his mind. Immediately frowning, he stuck one of his hands into his back pocket and held out the two cards that he had found by his Dreamberry.

"But s'not only that, yo." He paused as he mused on what exactly it was that he wanted to say for a moment. He brought the cards higher, almost up to eye level, just so Syaoran could see exactly what they were. "You got a coupla these too?"
