Jessamine shared much the same sentiments as Jace. She could barely stand living under the same roof as the blonde boy and now that they were chained together it only confirmed how much she disliked the boy. Ladies didn't usually stumble or trip and Jessamine was getting frustrated at the fact that she was being forced to do so. It was ever so difficult trying to gain back her poise when Jace was taller and had a longer stride than her.

"Lover?!" Jessamine asked as her arm was jolted upwards by Jace's motion. Her face immediately flushed at how indecent the word was but also because it was obviously being used in context towards her relationship with Desmond. "I am nobody's lover!"

Oh, this is not going to end well XD (order: Des/Izzie/Jace/Jess?) failssassin February 20 2011, 23:09:53 UTC
Desmond had to grit his teeth to keep himself from saying anything the moment he spotted the blond head of Isabelle's brother. But anything that rested on his tongue died the moment Jace talked and showed his wrist being attached to none than Jessamine's. The bartender glared at the young man, more out of annoyance than jealousy (or so he told himself) and corrected him despite the fact that he knew it was futile ( ... )

Things rarely do when they involve both Izzy and Jessie. (sounds good to me!) nolessthanseven February 20 2011, 23:17:25 UTC
A wide grin split Isabelle's mouth the moment she spotted Jace - if she hadn't been attached to Desmond, she would have treated him to a huge hug. She barely even noticed Jessamine until the girl's outburst, to which she snickered behind her free hand. Black eyes slid from Jace to Desmond, her expression sobering slightly. "He might have mentioned it."

Deciding that was more than enough on that front - lest they end up bickering over the ordeal until the handcuffs disappeared - Izzy stood up, tugging on the chain to let Desmond know they were moving. "Great, you got my text," she said to Jace brightly, heading over once she was sure Desmond was in tow. At least she was nice enough to make sure he wasn't going to stumble or trip on anything, unlike Jace.

Though she had to admit, if she were in her brother's shoes, she probably would have dragged Jessamine along for the ride too.

"I even found the strapless ones since you only have one arm free." Jace pointedly ignored the way Desmond and Jessamine reacted to his statement. Well, almost. He did stand up straighter with that cocky attitude he got when he felt like absolutely pissing off the world.

Which was pretty much every time Clary wasn't around to knock him down a peg or four.

"And there's good news, Izzy. You can flirt away. They're just friends."

Poor Desmond. Doesn't know what he's getting himself into. halfthelady February 20 2011, 23:50:12 UTC
The Victorian girl couldn't help but shoot a glare at Isabelle. It figured that she would have some sort of hand in this. She didn't find it the least surprising either that she and Jace seemed to be having the time of their lives milking the situation for what it was worth. The thought alone only made her purse her lips together and look away angrily to the side. Despite how much she wanted to take her parasol to Jace, Jessamine reminded herself that doing so would only cause him and supposed sister to tease and mock her even more.

When Jace spoke though, Jessamine's eyes darted quickly to Isabelle and then to the boy again. Jessamine bit back her comment and returned to looking away from the group. Saying what she wanted to say was hardly appropriate after all.

That's what he gets for trying to be a nice guy. Worst universal luck ever. failssassin February 21 2011, 00:06:04 UTC
It was probably a good decision that Isabelle didn't hug her brother. Desmond might have 'accidentally' hit the blond while his fist had been in the vicinity of Jace's face. Especially after the comment he added. But the Assassin simply rolled his eyes and ignored the young man, moving behind his sister smoothly. If there would be some dragging around, he would be the one doing so due to height difference, but he was too much of a good guy to do that. Whenever they would walk around, he'd make sure Isabelle would follow by his side.

When Jessamine looked away, he frowned lightly, keeping himself from reaching out to touch her shoulder, now was not the time to add fuel to the fire: "Hey, are you okay?" It was probably a futile question, but at least he'd listen to her tantrum. It was easy to see that she didn't appreciate being stuck with Jace.

So much bad luck in one place. It's awesome. nolessthanseven February 21 2011, 00:13:23 UTC
"Perfect," she told Jace in response to both statements, and giggling to herself at the latter as she took the dresses from him, tucking them over one arm. In all likelihood, she'd make the most of the opportunity, even though Desmond wasn't her usual type. If Jessamine liked him, he was too nice for Isabelle. She might answer questions, if he had them, though.

Izzy only half-paid attention to Desmond and Jessamine's budding conversation; she knew she'd be getting an earful from the Victorian Shadowhunter the moment an opportunity arose (or worse, another room revamping), so it was probably better to give Jace most of her attention and not give the blonde another reason to hate her. Even if she was partially eavesdropping.

"So like I said, I'm not going to be home for a while. Make sure my room's safe, okay?" She asked Jace, shooting a brisk glance over to Jessamine.

How cute. They were talking. Jace almost rolled his eyes but decided he'd rather talk to Isabelle. Of course he was listening in but that didn't mean he had to act like he was.

"We won't go anywhere near your room. In fact, I'm thinking of making her sleep on the couch with me. It'll be cute. Two people who hate each other snuggling."

Yeah. What a party that was going to be.

"I've been in better moods," Jessamine replied with a sigh ignoring both the pointed looks from Isabelle and the obvious conversation between she and her brother. "How one of those creatures even got into the manor is beyond me." She pouted. "And it would be just my luck that Jace would come into the kitchen while I was there."

Her eyes did trail down to the handcuffs that held the man and Isabelle together before they went back up to his face. "You don't seem to be suffering too much though."

Desmond nodded: it was understandable that Jessamine was annoyed at her situation. The bartender made a point of ignoring the two others for a moment, even though he was certain the two teens were listening on his and the blond woman's conversation. At the suggestion of cuddling on the couch made by Jace, the Assassin stiffened subtly. While he had no doubts Jessamine would be able to put the overeager boy back in his place, he nearly offered her to come and punch him if he tried anything funny with her. But the words died on his lips and he pretended he had never heard Jace: there was no need to had fuel to the fire ( ... )

"I bet you'll have the time of your life," Izzy told Jace with just a hint of amusement, rolling her eyes. Doubtless they would all be enjoying themselves until they figured out how to remove the handcuffs. Only the Angel knew exactly how that would work, though.

Isabelle's mouth pursed at the attempt to make Jessamine smile. She cast a dark glance towards Desmond, wanting more than anything to cross her arms at that moment. With his arm attached, though, it would cause nothing but a wasted effort on her part. She knew he could still see her, though, and that was good enough. At least then he'd be well aware what he was getting himself into.

She settled for planting her hands on her hips - enough of a gesture to likely get Desmond's attention - and made a face at Jace. At this rate, the next few days were just going to be annoying at best.

That very slight reaction from Desmond was very satisfying. The guy actually thought he intended on doing anything like that to Jessamine. A great reason not to bring up that he had a girlfriend and wasn't about to cheat on her. In his mind, there was only Clary.

...He quickly pushed those thoughts aside.

Glancing at Isabelle, Jace smirked. "Don't know what you're giving me that look for. At least yours has something aside from 'icy bitch' and 'super icy bitch'." He shrugged innocently.

Desmond's assumptions had been quite right. Even if Jace tried to do anything, which she highly doubt he would - the two disliked each other too much for that - he would quickly learn to regret it. Jessamine was learning too. She studiously ignored Jace's comment even though she couldn't help but panic slightly about their possible sleeping arrangements.

A small laugh escaped her lips at what Desmond said and despite the fact that Isabelle reacted to it, it did make Jessamine feel the slightest bit better. Her eyes crinkled at the corners as she spoke trying her best to seem as if she were scolding Desmond. Even she knew though the laugh was "That's hardly nice. Regardless whether or not she's your type, things like that simply shouldn't be said."

Jace's side comment made her eyes burn and she shot him a quick look before turning her back to him as best she could.

Isabelle's reaction and glare was enough to widen his smile into a smirk. He had been living with Shaun, the king of snark, fort he past month of his life when he was back home. He could certainly handle a cranky teenager, right?

"Maybe, but at least I'm not flat out insulting her."

He gave Jace a pointed look. This situation couldn't end fast enough.

"Maybe we should try to find a way to get out of these shackles instead of arguing who's caught in the worse situation."

Wouldn't you look at him? Taking initiative! It was really a shame that his team couldn't see him at the moment. Well, considering that he was attached to an underaged woman, it was probably for the best that they didn't.

Izzy rolled her eyes at Jace, containing her smirk for the time being.

She was barely underaged. Besides, he invited her to the club, not the other way around. A protestation that he had better not flat out insult her - she still had her weapons on her, after all - died on her lips as Desmond spoke again. Isabelle wiggled the cuffs on her wrist, giving them just as harsh a look.

"Good luck. If none of our weapons work on them, what other options are there?" With their luck, it would be something totally stupid. Or worse yet, something that reduced her dignity to virtually nothing.
