Unicorn had sensed him when he had entered the water and she had watched him. She could sense his pain, perhaps as much as Nessie had which was why the younger creature had gone to the silver haired boy. Unicorn had merely sat herself down and watched the two. She had even caught the sea monster's eye in her playtime and she brought the man over to her.
She gazed at him for a long moment, unaffected by his nudity but still.. she could sense something within him. When she had finally spoken she wondered if the boy would see her for what she was when he turned around. Nessie didn't have her problem after all. No one needed to believe in Nessie to see her. But Unicorn cared little if men saw her, it was not men that sought her out, though her ability calm and heal them was certainly not gender specific.
"You are troubled."

Unabashed at his unclothed state, the tall General gave the creature a polite nod; some sort of equs, it seemed. Equines were rare in Midgar, but not totally unheard of. And the fact that this one possessed the ability to speak was indeed a novelty.
Nevertheless, it seemed this world was full of surprises, therefore Sephiroth resolved to puzzle it out later. For now, he stood unflinching and answered in his quiet baritone, "I admit I was surprised to encounter her in the lake." A glimmer of mirth sparked in deep green. "She was indeed a worthy companion."
The animal's latter comment sparked a tiny frown between his brows and Sephiroth paused. He'd come here to forget his troubles, by Shiva. Feigned nonchalance prompted the shrug of a ( ... )

"The trifles of men are always fleeting," to her at least. She had seen enough wars and the petty fights to know that there was never any real reason for them. Some nonsense over land they didn't actually own, land that had been there before them and would be there after them. Or nonsense over love and religion or whatever else humans decided to fight about. Even having experienced love, she could not think about starting a war with someone over it, yet the Greeks went for one woman.
Unicorn merely gazed at the boy, sensing some sort of power in him but she paid it little mind. Rather she merely shook her head and started to walk away.

Sephiroth watched her watching him, his own gaze curious as he gazed at the lovely thing. He'd never before seen the like and somehow doubted he never would again, outside of this strange new world. But then, perhaps the gilded creature was a prisoner here, just as all the rest.
It surprised him a bit when she said nothing more, but turned away, presumably to again disappear into the trees near the lakeshore. Some internal prod prompted him to gently call out, "Curiosity satisfied, gentle creature?"

The pup's antics brought a half-smile to Sephiroth's face; he reached out a still-bare hand to ruffle her ears before glancing up at the youngster...and stared for a long minute. If he didn't know any better... But then again, this was a world full of impossibilities, he'd seen that first hand himself. So he resolved not to discount anything.
Still...the uncanny likeness was indeed startling. But he simply nodded a greeting and said quietly, "She's not a bother, don't worry."

Man, if only he could know his world's Sephiroth. Now that would be so cool. "But you're Sephiroth, right? It's really weird, a lot people from your world is from mine too. Or... something like that."
He also really really wanted to ask if Sephiroth was a hero. But he barely managed to refrain.

"It's confusing, I'll grant," he heard himself saying in answer. "I try not to think about it too much." Wasn't that the truth. He had headaches enough without trying to puzzle out the mechanics of this dream world.
"And yes, I'm Sephiroth." Or so he was the last time he checked. Still, a quandary..."If you're not from my world, young Zack Fair, then how do you know me?" That...was probably not the best question to ask, but he wouldn't take it back now.

This wood had many interesting things in it, and it hardly surprised her to see another.

Finally, he bent and retrieved the encased sword, casually tapping the ground with its point. A peculiar cynical mirth in his expression, feline aqua eyes perused the woods' border and his quiet baritone called, "I know you're there. Come out."

"I doubt using that on me would do much good. Enjoying yourself? I rarely see people around here these days."

"I did, yes. Quite well. Nessie seemed grateful for the company." He didn't add, And I was near to losing my mind cooped up indoors. "The solitude is comforting."
