Ezio was a regular to the coliseum now that he had good reason to go there. Every so often, when he actually had the time, he could stop by and see if any progress had been made on the secret room he had dubbed useful for his assassin brothers. Lightning seemed to be doing a good job while he was busy and he'd have to thank her for her hard work later--but that aside, he was usually setting up most of the actual training dummies and such ( ... )

Danny dimly registers someone watching him from off to one side, but he tries to ignore it, expecting them to move on. When they don't, his aim starts to stray: his audience is distracting him.

It doesn't take long for him to give up the farce, lowering the hand and turning to face his watcher. Danny's nerves get the better of him, now: his tone comes out sharper than he'd intended.

"What?"

The assassin says nothing at first, instead just giving the younger man a hard stare under the shadow of his hood: one he gave the novices that recently joined the order. Appraising Danny's skills despite having never seen anything like that in his life.

If he was so inclined he would say that he shouldn't be so easily distracted by someone watching, but he didn't. Not yet.

"Che?" He mocked, leaning against the wall slightly, "Nothing, I was only watching. It is not often I see something like that...that." he waved his hand around as if that would emphasise what he was talking about. You know...weird plasma stuff coming out of your hand.

Danny straightens unconsciously under the look, wanting to seem taller. He's had this look before...

... And whatever it was, this Ezio guy must be finding him lacking. Danny's expression dims at the brief mockery. As nice as he'd thought Ezio was, this version of him might be different. Danny's not going to let himself be caught off guard, if he turns out to have changed for the worse.

Folding his arms, Danny shrugs with forced casualness. "Yeah, you probably won't find much like it here."

Angela has come to do that exploring she keeps mentioning-- now that the snow is all sugary and sticky and generally not as fun to play in, she's finally got the motivation to check things out more thoroughly on her own. So she wanders up to the coliseum entry and steps towards the arena only to find someone else there.

Well, nuts. It's one thing to poke around on her own, if she sets a monster loose or something it's only her life at risk, but if there's someone else there...

Wait. Is that kid floating? She stops and watches, then jumps a bit when he blasts a target. Holy crap.

More confident in the target's durability, now, Danny narrows his eyes at it and punches out a particularly strong blast. The ectoplasm hits the target with a bright light and a sizzling sound, leaving a large scorchmark over scorchmarks.

"Whoo!" Danny pumps a fist, smiling widely. "Bulls-eye! That was awesome!" And after all that hard work, he's kind of thirsty. Still grinning, he starts to turn and float towards the door--and screeches to a mid-air halt when he notices his audience.

"Oh. Um--were you, uh, watching that?"

"It's kind of hard not to. I mean, I don't see floaty people every day." She just kind of stares back at him, then knits her brow. "How in the world are you doing that?"

"Oh," Danny says, suddenly acutely aware of the foot or two between him and the ground. (He floats a little lower, as though wishing he could land without being overly obvious.)

"Uh. I'm kind of a ghost."

[would you believe that Ace was only there because he was lost?

but he spots and hears Danny, and approaches from behind for a closer investigation]

Try a little to the left.

*Somehow that's not hard to believe.*

*Had been lining up a shot just before the man spoke, and winds up yelping in surprise, whirling around. (For the record, the shot misses the target entirely.)* Whoa! What--oh... Um--left?

*A quick glance to the singed patch of wall where his blast hit reveals that he went far more left than he should have.* Maybe not.

[cringes a bit, but he just laughs]

My apologies, I didn't mean to startle you, Danny.

By the way...
