[Hello, Angela, meet sungod. Or rather, descending sun god. He drifts down from his pocket of reality lazily, curiosity pinged by the use of the word 'holy'. And while Apollo isn't exactly the sort of god who believes in taking care of his own, he does have a curiosity that he wishes to be satisfied.

Drifting down until he is directly behind her, he watches the scarecrow with its sickle and its slow, advancing movements.

A breath, and the thing catches on fire.]

[ Angela's backside is suddenly very warm. While she's been clueless up until now, it doesn't take long for a magician to realize there is something burning behind her. Something that she didn't set on fire.

She watches the scarecrow, bug-eyed before she finally looks around. ]

I-I'm going to guess the locals don't spontaneously combust. Er, hello? Is anyone there?

[And now, he is amused.]

Not often. Not unless I wish for it. [At that, though, he rises up a little higher in the air.] Are you startled?

[ Angela blinks. She isn't used to people being able to fly. Or set things on fire without a spell. Or generally... be anything like this new person. ] Startled, yeah. You could say that. Who are you?

Hey!

[Not really noting the girl talking to herself, Boris is going to pounce on that scarecrow and knock the sickle out of its hand. Much like a cat, he'll be inspecting his prey now.]

I've always wanted to catch one of these.

[... oh wait, there's someone else. Just taking note of her now, Boris turns to her and tilts his head.]

... oops, was this one yours?

[ Angela is still attempting to figure out what this... smooth shiny thing is when she hears the scarecrow go down and she turns around, then stares at what she assumes is a beastman.

One with pink hair. That's... different. ]

I... What? No. It's not mine.

Sweet! Then I can take the glory for this one.

[First he bends down, nudging the fallen scarecrow a few times... and then being bored with that, he stands up and returns his attention to her.]

You know, I realize I haven't been around much, but I don't think we've met either way. Are you new or something?

[ What? Sorry, Angela is distracted by the PINK EARS. It takes her a moment to register what he's asking. ] Wait, do you live here?

[Although he wasn't someone who frequented the village very often, Travis was glad to be where he was at that time. Looks like it was his chance to impress a damsel in distress (whether known to her or not). He takes out his beam katana and slices cleanly through the scarecrow. The stuffing flies about as its upper half and sickle topples onto the ground.]

Looks like that was a pretty close call.

[ Angela is just about to turn around when she hears the SWOOSH of the katana and the scarecrow falls apart. She notices the sickle then and her eyes go wide. ] Oh that's just great! The monsters here carry weapons too.

[ Then she looks at the stranger who just saved her. ] Thanks.

Monsters? [Travis just looks at the scarecrow's remains and raises an eyebrow.]

These things are more like practice dummies if you ask me.

From what I've seen, practice dummies don't usually make a viable effort to kill you.

[ Buuut arguing over this would probably be pointless, so she changes the subject. ] Can you tell me where I am?
