She nodded slowly. It was hard not to be cautious, knowing what they both know about their respective times. But Lara still wanted to believe in the good of people, like that tribe that had lived at the foot of the Kilimanjaro, protecting the Cradle of Life, like Hillary and Bryce who never questioned her motives, who always helped her no matter what danger they could be put through for it ( ... )

It had been their way for so long, back in the time of Alexander the Great of Macedon, King Xerxes of Persia and more, some great names, some men and women who would be footnotes of history.

He would have to come back and read more, to see what had become of some of the assassins he had learned about as a young boy. He and Malik would likely be the only ones to remember their names.

It was a sad thought.
