Kaoru knew that Haruhi could get a little caught up in studying, but this seemed a bit much. Even at home it wasn't uncommon for him and Hikaru to try and distract her with something a lot more fun (to them, at least). There was no way he would let her spend her free time in Somarium just studying. It was a dream world after all, there had to be loads more interesting things around

Lost half in her book, half in her thoughts, Haruhi was unaware of Kaoru's approach until she felt his hand on her head. Startled, she gave a violent jump, then calmed enough to realise to whom the hand belonged.
"Kaoru, hey," she greeted, turning to face him. "Sorry, you got here more quickly than I expected." She gestured to the books she still had sprawled over the table.
"Yeah, I can tell. Want me to help you clean up?" Kaoru really wasn't surprised that she hadn't stopped, since she was pretty obsessed with studying sometimes. But after his conversation with Tamaki he was a little less sure; he knew from experience that both of them could be pretty oblivious, sometimes at the same time as one another. For now all he could really do was take her around the city to have some fun.
"Ah, you don't have to, I can get it," Haruhi said quickly. Kaoru had already met her in the library, where he likely wouldn't have otherwise been; he didn't need to put away her sprawl of books. "They're all from a shelf right there, anyway
