Elizabeth herself was out doing doing some shopping, when she saw the other young woman in the store. She smiled and walked over to her. "Good afternoon," she greeted her.

She had been so focused on her current task that she didn't notice the woman approach.

"Oh. To you as well." that sounded awkward, but Saber was always bad with small talk.

Elizabeth was used to the Chinese monks, who were not ones to talk much, so the short reply did not faze her. "What is it that you are looking to make?" Elizabeth asked politely, looking at some beef herself.

"Nothing in particular I suppose. My intent is to practice a variety of dishes." It seemed the most efficient method after all.

"In such cases, it is appropriate to get an equally various stock of ingredients."

[Ever since Kyou had started feeling hungry again, he had made it a habit to pick up ingredients for a few dishes that should at least last him the week. Never one to make a list for this kind of thing, he looked into his basket and ticked off the items in it one by one. With most of his focus on the basket, he continued walking without any real direction... or attention for that matter.]

[Well, it wouldn't hurt to have one of each, right?

Alright, one thing of chicken, one of beef, one of turkey, and lastly some pork. That should last her a while and give her lots of chances should she mess up. As soon as she'd claimed her prizes she turned to start looking elsewhere...

but she didn't see the boy walking her way. Unfortunately, it was too late to stop.]

[Before Kyou knew what or who he had run into, it had been too late. The transformation had already triggered and he was lucky that the basket had missed him as he fell to the ground. It took a few seconds for him to reorient himself and wriggle out from under his clothes, cursing his damned luck all the while.

Finally, he emerged from beneath his shirt to figure out who he had collided with.]

While Mordred's appetite was dwarfed by that of his 'father' -- who needed food to provide her with the trace amounts of prana she needed to maintain her existence -- he nevertheless required a little more than the average human being. As a homunculus -- an artificial person that was essentially a walking magic circuit -- he tended to burn through more calories than a human of his size.

Yet, even aside from basic need, he shared Saber's love of good food. As much as they ate, the two were notoriously picky eaters.

She was not in their home when he left, but he had not expected to run into her as he stepped into the store as he idly perused its wares.

"Fa..." he stopped himself, remembering their ordeal in the desert and the subtle change in their curious relationship. "Mother?"

She was not yet fully accustomed to him calling her that and it took her a moment to register she was being addressed.

"Oh, Mordred. I expected you to sleep in a little more. What are you doing in town? And is that irr--" She had to stop herself before she asked about Gilgamesh. Honestly, she didn't understand why he was constantly entering her thoughts at the most inconvenient times.

"It is advantageous, however. You may help me select food stuffs for the apartment."

It was something the homunculus himself was unaccustomed to, her being so flustered. In Camelot, it seemed that nothing disturbed her calm or even so much as scratched the surface of her icy mask. But here in Somarium, he had witnessed that calm break on a number of occasions, most often when she was dealing with the arrogant King of Heroes. Mordred suspected it had something to do with him again.

"I could no longer sleep," he explained, refraining from mentioning the Golden King. Even if her ire was not directed at him, the boy had no wish to upset her further.

His face lit in a bright smile. Though she had opened up considerably, especially after his desert training, he was still easily put in a good mood whenever she invited his company.

But he really should think about what food they needed, shouldn't he? Determined to be of use to her, he forced himself to focus. "We should likely buy vegetables...ones that are easy to prepare and keep."

"I hope you are feeling all right." she frowned only slightly, but he seemed well enough; he was getting checked when they went home.

"That is indeed practical. I commend you for your thinking. Would you go get us some?" With the meat selected, she decided to go down the pasta and bread isle.

With her mind on their current task, she was able to push the golden king to the very edge of her thoughts. It was wonderful. She was free to return to her normal composure and stoic mask.

Minako was just browsing, seeing if there was anything that caught her eye. She also wanted to bring home some good snacks for herself and Ada. Any thoughts she had, however, flew out of her mind when she spotted the blonde woman in the meat department.

"Saber-san!" she cried happily, planning on cornering her and taking her shopping this time.

She knew that voice. She couldn't immediately place it, but when she turned to meet the speaker...

"Minako...what brings you here?"

Little does she know she's going to be a doll in a few minutes.

"I was going to get some groceries, but..." Minako grinned. "You never came to the shopping trip!"

"Uh...no. I did not." for some reason, she felt like she should run.
