[Teasingly, she grins excitedly at her partner, impressed with the way he's handled the situation. Tim's always been the better student, Steph isn't naive enough to argue with that, but she can't help but find herself in awe of how he has stepped up his game after their mentor's sudden death. To the girl, it seemed like everything he was now accomplishing was in the great name of Owlman.]
I thought I was the only girl in your life, Talon. Saturday nights are usually our date night.

[He didn't even turn around to look back at her. More police cars were nearing, judging by their sirens' growing amplitude. That didn't stop him from inspecting the contents of the stolen bags of cash. He was grinning at the vast multitude of green inside each, each piece flapping between the clawed fingers that scanned them. There's always a plan! [It might have been an exclamation, but he certainly wasn't yelling. He sounded more like he was very certain, than anything.]
This is going to emit a signal that hacks into the systems of the police cars around us. As soon as the rest of them arrive, I'd have triggered a timed explosion.

[He'd had a bad feeling about this from the minute the call went out. Well, since when was the last time anything good came out of sudden, quietly frantic calls for backup at - oh, crap, that was one of the banks. Ken hesitated to check his gun was loaded and ready before radioing back that he was on his way and damn but he really did not like the way his voice had caught before he'd responded. Part of him hoped, insanely, that Dispatch would tell him to back the Hell off and leave this to the guys who knew what they thought they were doing, but they didn't. Well, of course they didn't.
[Ken had heard about this, but never seen it. Some kind of luck of the draw that he'd off-duty or busy elsewhere every time one of these went down - he'd always known that luck was gonna run out some day. He'd just... well, he'd kind of hoped he'd have a bit more time, that was all ( ... )
